So this is my first post on the forums and hopefully I figured out how to post the links to the pictures the right way. About six months ago I started growing my hair out for the first time in my life (I usually wear pretty much a buzz cut). My original intention was to go all out for a ponytail, however I'm getting a lot of pressure from my boss to cut my hair (not mandatory but he is getting on my case a bit) and I'm getting a little sick of it being in the awkward, always in my eyes stage as well. I was wondering if you all would be able to maybe gauge (from the pictures I post) how much longer it would take to grow it out to ponytail length.

Anyways heres the three pictures I took yesterday:

And heres what I'm going for at the moment:

I wasn't sure the best way to take pictures so if you all need anymore info please let me know. The last haircut I got was the beginning of July and it was a buzz cut. Thanks for any and all help!

Well, hair grows on average about 1/2 inch per month. You could just pull the hair back that you have and check how much longer it needs to be to get the shortest layers in a ponytail, then do the math. From the pics, it shouldn't be much longer...

I agree -- since what you're going for is a 2-part pony tail, you're probably close now. If not, it should be fairly soon. You have very nice hair!

I'm on the same boat, started growing in july and willing to reach ponytail lenght to go past the awkward phase.
From what i see it seems you're not too far away, the back may be a problem but going for two part ponytail could help with that issue.

Keep growing, i was there a couple years ago and i cut before reaching any goal, i regret SO much now!

I don't know about how much longer it will take, but your hair length at the moment looks awesome on you. :crush:

Your hair looks great! You might be able to get it into two small pony tails like Beckham by using some aloe or styling gel, or putting it up while wet (not terribly great as far as damage is concerned, but at least you'll get it tucked out of the way). Are you allowed to wear hats at work? That might keep your boss from picking on your hair.

You're not far at all! Maybe 4-6 months but that's just a ballpark guess. Could be a little less or more depending on your growth rate. Definitely less than a year.

Your hair looks great now, and you look super cute at that length. It doesn't look messy at all for work. Your boss might be jealous lol. Hang in there, I think you will reach your desired length in a few months.

Have you tried a double ponytail? It looks like it's possible, especially with pure aloe vera gel to control it.

You have fabulous hair. Long hair suits you a lot. I would say, like some of the others on here, that you are probably about 3 or so inches off your goal. Good luck and keep us posted! :)

Thank you all for the wonderful compliments and i'm definitely going to keep growing it out (my boss will just have to deal with it :) ). I will try some of that aloe vera gel and keep you all posted.
