That's funny, I was just wearing one today. It's a double skinny band from Scunci with fake pearls and diamonds on it. It is the first headband that I can wear all day without needing to take it off. No pics though, I already took it off for the day!

I also just ordered a Ficcare double arch silver headband, and it is on its way to me. I will have to post pics of both headbands later!

Headbands look horrible on me. Hopefully it's temporary and will get better as my bangs grow. I have weird shaped head imo.... Yours look good though. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

I like to wear headbands but they get in the way of my glasses. I have some of the elastic cloth ones I have seen them on other people & they looked good but I bought some & they won't stay on my head, they keep creeping off.

Everyones pictures of headbands looks really pretty!

LisaMonster - Thank you! They are both my sister's, but I wear them a lot, lol.

Fairlight63 - I have found that if I wear them just slightly further back than normal they do not get in the way of my glasses and are very comfortable. It may take some getting used to, though.

Usually I wear my sunglasses as a headband indoors, but once in a while I'll wear a twilly as a headband - I can't wear the rigid headbands at all, they hurt my head (>(oo)<)`

Twilly secured into my ponytail at the back:

I love the look of these, all your photos look so fun LisaMonster. :) Sadly when I wear headbands it becomes a bit of a battle to get soft ones to stay on my head, and rigid ones seem to always pinch behind the ears.

I love headbands! Specially now that I am growing my front bangs, I cant stand hair on my face :-( I have a lot of them, I only wear black so they kind of blend with my hair. I do love the white/beige headband on you, I have many with flowers as well :)
I am 24 years old and since I started wearing headbands ppl tell me I look 19!! Ok I dont know whether to take that as a compliment or not.

I love headbands but find it hard to find ones that don't pinch :(..I wear a lot of skinny headbands with little tiered bows on them or wide headbands (no flowers/other accessories yet, sorry!)
for the cloth ones, adding a few hairpins along the front edges of the headband can help with slippage issues

I have not worn headbands for quite a few years now, but I still have a couple of them in the bathroom, dark-blue and greyish-green. You know what, I think I'll give them a try again to see if I am back to feeling comfortable with them :) !
And who knows, maybe I'll be adquiring some new ones - Yesterday I went to a shop desperatedly looking for some hair clips, and they had quite a lot of hairbands in there, but I didn't really spare them a second look, because I haven't worn them for so long.

That's exactly the 'problem' I've got, I had come to think headbands had that effect on me. But then, my singing teacher told she thought I was some four years younger than I am (without any headband on me :)) - so it doesn't really matter if I actually give a try to headbands again, does it?:p

cute headbands, my fave is def the yellow floral one. where'd you find it?? I saw some like that in our grocery store but couldn't pick just one color..lol..so I didn't get any. must make a trip to claire's/ardene's soon & see what they have. do you have a sephora store where you live?? they have beautiful diamond pave headbands ($20) and also one that is made out of faux hair, braided..so it looks like you spent tons of time with the style & its just a headband.

I adore headbands (especially now that I'm growing out my bangs) but sadly most of them either won't stay on (cloth) or hurt my head (rigid). I do, however have three Ficcare headbands I just LOVE and that don't hurt at all. I also have a couple of Scunci ones they don't make anymore that were "No-headache" hairbands. I wear one of them almost everyday right now (grow bangs, grow!)

I'll try to find my pic with the Ficcares.....

Oooh. Shiny. :D

I love headbands of all sorts, but I have a huge head and all of the head bands I find here are made for aliens or something as they are tiny, tiny, tiny. Hello head ache! I did however find some soft ones in a second hand store. I really should just make some, all you need is a pretty fabric and some elastic band. I'll try to come back with pictures.

I don't think it's gonna happen anytime soon .. but yeah I keep buying them too, I have about 10 of them !!! or rather would have about that many, my daughter always takes them breaks them, leaves them places, whatever .. lol :-)

I only own one and "made" it. The only part of the original headband is that little rose above the big one (but it's hard to see in this picture, I'm sorry D:). I used to wear glasses so never bothered with headbands much. I guess now I can wear them more easily!

I used to think I had a big head because store bought headbands always seemed too small and pinched and gave me headaches (even when I was a child). But from reading all the comments here from people who also get headaches from headbands I'm starting to think my big dome isn't the problem, maybe it isn't a big dome after all, maybe it is a completely normal size head and headbands are just made too small.

Yes, they are quite comfy although I did have to bend the very ends just a tad on one of them - can't remember which one now though! Here's a thread I started when I wanted to get one - there's a couple of more pics besides mine (mine are now gone, as I deleted the album long ago) at the end of the thread. Plus more opinions on them. http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=28276

Inspired by this thread (and because they were on sale! :p), I bought a hedband from this seller (http://en.dawanda.com/shop/JanineBasil?#shop_products), who does really cool comic-book-inspired headbands.

It's made of felt and an elastic (no more pinching! And it's smooth enough that it doesn't catch or break hairs), so it's a one-size-fits-all, and I think it looks really striking (particularly in dark hair).

Headbands are becoming an absolute saving force while growing out my pixie! If you're handy with crafts, there are some great ones on Etsy you can use as inspiration to make yourself (I found some cheap plastic bands from my local shop, and they're a lot more comfortable than the metal ones for me, maybe since my hair's fine?). This weekend I made one with Alexander McQueen-esque butterflies, and another one with a vintage applique - very fun to wear at work!

As soon as I pass the newbie stage, I'll post some pics-

LisaMonster, you are so cute ^^'
I usually hate headbands, either because they hurt, or are too flashy or just plain cheesy.
But I found this one at Claire's the other day and I just fell in love with it :inlove:
I have another one, also from Claire's, but I don't use it very often, so no pics yet :o

I am so in love with this headband. :cloud9: Where did you bought it? Or did you made it yourself?

I used to always wear headbands but anymore I've discovered they give me horrible head aches...such a shame I used to love wearing them...:(

Thank you! I've made it myself (although you can buy ones alike at etsy & ebay as well). You just need a headband, some peacock feathers, a piece of felt and a hot glue gun! :) And a bit of patience :P

Also a tip: on ebay & etsy you can bay feather PADS.. they are basically felt with feathers glued on to them: you only have to glue them on to a headband yourself and you're done! They're way cheaper (and easier to send!) then feather headbands. Like, a loooot cheaper, definitely worth trying :)

LisaMonster, I love your flower headbands! I need to find some of those :) I have bow headbands, but I don't wear them that often.

I'm not one for headbands, but I like that one a lot.

At first I was really confused cause I was thinking, why on earth would someone want to buy feather pads... they wouldn't be too absorbant... then I realized that you weren't talking about that kind of pad. lol!:D

I have a couple of old pictures of my Ficcare headbands, which I absolutely adore. They're one of the few ones I've found which don't give me headaches. I don't have the best camera, but hopefully you can get an idea.

Thanks to this thread, I've returned to headbands! Not long ago, I bought a new one, a very slim metal headband with a lovely piece attached shaped in the form of leaves with small orange stones...It sort of fits amid my newly henna'ed hair! I'll post some pictures soon :)

I promised I would show my metallic slim headband with the orange stones like ages ago...:o Well, anyway, here goes it now. As usual, huge pics...

Ok, now I've gone through the whole thread, I'm feeling inspired. Definitely a great thread LisaMonster. You should tag this thread if you haven't already.

Oktobergoud, I just LOVE your look. You sure you wanna grow out that pixie?! :p

RitaPG, gorgeous headband! Love it.

And SwordWomanRiona, love your headband too and I really like how you've placed it.

Unfortunately, I'm one of those people who gets a headache from headbands, no matter how soft and loose they are. I can wear them for a couple of hours, then they have to come off.

Oh and luxepiggy, very cool as always! Oink oink to you :beerchug:

I've been thinking about getting back into headbands, but I absolutely cannot wear the ones that are plastic/metal/etc and just kind of clamp over your head... Those always give me headaches if I wear one for more than about an hour. I also get headaches if my updo is very tight on my head (makes finding buns that hold and are comfortable a challenge). I'm thinking of buying a wide headband from GarlandsofGrace on Etsy because some of theirs have velvet ties in the back, so I could tie it loosely and maybe not get a headache? We'll see. I really want to be able to wear them because they're so darn cute! As evidenced by the pics posted in this thread. :)

Thanks, alyanna! I like to slide a headband further back than the 'usual norm', it keeps more hair out of my face and sort of lifts it up, like creating more volume :)

I had an amazing blue one with a peacock style feather on (lying across my head). It really suited me, but I lost it :(

I had some really nice ones, and they suited me. But they put pressure behind my ears and give me headaches, so I cannot wear them for long :(
