I currently have terrible re-growth, and since going cone and sls free I haven't been able to find a shampoo/conditioner that keeps that ashy tone that I like and my hair keeps turning golden.
So I'm going back to the salon. I have been seeing my hairdresser for the past 4 years and hope she will understand when I say 'micro trim' and 'no blowdrying'. I'm also getting a treatment.
Will one wash of a coney, probably sls shampoo after dying my hair mean I'll have to clarify again to go cone free?
wish me luck at the salon! :cheese:

Good luck at the salon. I wouldn't clarify for a while because that will immediately strip the dye and that means the golden tones may show up faster.

Good luck. I also agree to not clarify for a while.

I wouldn't dream of not going to the hairdresser. I got every 8 weeks to get my colour done, but she hasn't cut it since June (my mum gave it a little trim in October for me!). She is totally sympathetic, although I do get it styled (usually GHD curls or something) just for a treat and to see how the colour turned out.
I was very fanatical about my hair when I first joined LHC, but I am much more relaxed now. I don't get stressed about cones, and sometimes use my own GHD, although just at the front. I'm sure a refreshed colour will be worth the temporary cones!

Thanks for the replies..
Flossy - I also used to go every 8 weeks.. but I haven't had mine done since early october!
I am dying for no regrowth and some fresh colour...
I'll try not to worry about it too much - but I'm still skipping the blow dry, and I might ask if I can comb my hair myself too. :)
