Just bought a Belle costume and was wondering how to do my hair. I think its pretty much a pony tail where the top bit is a bun. Haven't attempted anything yet. Anyone attempted this before? Or got any other ideas for hairstyles?

I just googled some pics and it looks like it's pretty much a half up, with the half that is up made into a big poofy bun (maybe use a hair rat if not enough hair) with a ribbon tied around it. The rest is left long and slightly curled.

Looks lovely actually :inlove:

Be sure to post pics of you all dressed up!!

Yeah I'll make sure to get some pics from it, just hope the costume actually arrives as lots of couriers can't seem to work out how to get into our building lol

Here is a tutorial on the subject http://rapunzelsresource.wordpress.com/2010/09/08/beauty-and-the-beast/ (http://rapunzelsresource.wordpress.com/2010/09/08/beauty-and-the-beast/)
She has a lot of other tutorials as well. Very easy to understand (coming from me, the direction dummy) :p.

Good tutorial.

I thought Belle's everyday hair was a gibson tuck and her hair for the dance was a sock bun with some left out and curled with a clip round.

I've seen all kinds of tutorials for how to achieve this style, but this is the first one that actually made sense. All the others have you making a separate bun, then curling the left over part. This looks like something I might actually be able to do int he morning before work :)

Super cool! I like the Rapunzel tutorial, also.

Great tutorial, thanks for sharing. I've just tried it but unfortunately by the time flip the ponytail to make a bun I don't have any hair left to hang down (I'm just passed APL) Maybe I'll try keeping half down first and see how that looks
