Unexpected positive comment

We went up to DBF's grandparents house for Christmas Eve dinner. He hasn't been there in a couple years, and last time he was there he had short hair. Well, his hair definitely isn't short now (approximately BSL). His family is uber-conservative, so I was expecting negative comments about it, but lo-and-behold, I was wrong. His 80-year old grandmother comes up to him, gives him a look-over (I brace myself for negative feedback), and says "Your hair looks nice!"

You're right, that is very cool indeed! Good for grandma. :)

It helps if the hair is neat and clean and organized I'm sure. Bed-head is not usually a look older folks appreciate. ;)

I have an 70 year old aunt who is in looove with Willie Nelson, she goes on and on about his long flowing hair. She is pretty conservative too, so it just goes to show , you never can tell what people find to be cool.
