I know that my hair is Fine and at a ii for my ponytail...but I am so confused for my first classifier, now! I always thought my hair was super straight...guess not. FYI, my hair length has been dyed (eek) and it also has layers that I'm growing out. This is my first official time doing the "wash, condition, leave it alone" experiment. Help please? :)

I followed this article: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=164
so I assumed it was okay. Everything was cone-free and I rinsed really well.

I'd say 2b. Very pretty. :D

2a. Your waves are loose and stretched out, not tighter like braid waves.

I agree with 2a ... it looks like loose waves with a defined pattern. To me 2b would look like tighter waves with a defined pattern.

I'm sorry, the article does say condition. I'm not sure which one I read that said we shouldn't. I do stick with 2b though, the waves are not stretched out enough for 2a. If I do two pigtails, I have waves like yours. :D Very pretty. 2a is not so "full of waves" like that.

I would say 2a/2b. :) Haha I can't decide between the two.

"2c: Thick and coarse and more resistant to styling and will frizz easily"

They mix strand thickness with texture? I have fine and mediums with 2c (wavy with curls at bottom). So my type doesn't exist there. Too bad the visual fia type system that was here isn't working anymore, at least I can't see pics anymore.

ETA: Found a lot of inconsistencies with the LHC chart...and some look styled.

Since I can't see any photos from the fia site, I thought I'd put a pic of 2a from LHC members, I hope it's okay since only members can see the pic anyway. I just did a search for 2a hair. This are the "stretched waves" I think are 2a.

and 2b:

See how looks like yours? At least to me it does. I know some members don't have it right too, saw lots of 2a's calling it 2b.

I'd say 2a, since your hair looks like mine. :)

And I use Fia's hairtyping system (http://homepage.mac.com/annsofie.henriksson/hairtyping/Personal27.html), incidentally.

I also use fia's, which I learned here. I edit my post above with some pics.

Oh my gosh, all of you are so awesome! :joy: You are a HUGE help! I really appreciate the input and pictures and any other references. I haven't been a member too long yet, so I'm still learning...and it seems like you keep learning no matter how long you've been a member here. :)

ETA: I'm also excited to see what it will do once it gets longer and more of my natural color. Could be pretty cool. Maybe 6 months or so I'll do another set of pics?

I vote for 2a. It's just not wavy enough for 2b or straight enough for 1c :)

Now I feel like I'm starting over again learning about my hair! Gotta learn how to style it to emphasize the waviness. Wouldn't have even thought it would be possible with the extreme, silky, baby-fine hair that I have. :D

Can someone help me please? I cannot see any of the pictures on Fia's hairtyping website. Does anyone else have this problem? I am trying to figure out what I am exactly myself!
