Has anyone else bought from Longhaired Jewels (Luckypurple on Folksy) (http://www.folksy.com/shops/Luckypurple)?

I saw a beautiful hairstick from this seller in Clairenewcastle's albums, and it was already too late, I was enabled! :o I bought this one (http://www.folksy.com/items/1034381-Hair-stick-Tea-Time-with-faceted-crystal-bead) as a present to myself on Christmas Eve, I'm expecting its arrival in the new year (when I'll report back). I'm a sucker for tea-themed things, and a hairstick with teapot topper and a cup and saucer dangle? I was doomed. :D

Those are really lovely - I especially like the pine and holly sticks! Definitely bookmarking that store! :)

Oh, man! I've never seen this artist's work before. (You nasty enabler, you! :p)

I love your teatime stick!

I also looooooove this holly stick (http://www.folksy.com/items/1038237-Hair-stick-Genuine-Holly-with-charms?shop=yes)!
And this squirrel/acorn stick (http://www.folksy.com/items/1034333-Hair-stick-Indian-Agate-with-Squirrel-Acorn-Charm?shop=yes)!

I soooooo want that holly stick!

Do you know - anyone - if this seller (or any on folksy) ship to the U.S.??? :ponder:

:D As far as I can tell, all this seller's items are free post to the UK, and £2 (US $3.08, at the current exchange rate) to anywhere else:

This item ships to all other destinations for a flat rate: Initial item shipping fee £2.00

I'd never used Folksy before this transaction, but it seems to be a UK version of Etsy (unaffiliated). Wish I'd known about it before, really. :)

I bought a stick a few months ago for a present. It was very nice and the shipping was super-fast (i got it the next day). I haven't got anything there for myself though (yet!) :)

I bought both the holly stick and squirrel/acorn stick from this site!

I'd never seen hairsticks like that anywhere else and as there are red squirrels near to where I live I just couldn't resist........sigh.

There's pictures of both hairsticks in my "Hair" album.

It came! She posted it yesterday so Royal Mail must've excelled themselves for once. :p I'll post action shots soon, but it is beautiful, and she was kind enough to send free matching earrings too. :) There is however one negative: It smells significantly of pipe smoke, and being the boring non-smoker I am, I'm not too fond of the smell. So I'm working on getting rid of it with gentle soaps and things (if anyone has any suggestions for removing smell from wood particularly, I'd be very grateful).

Looking forward to seeing the action shots. :)

Out of interest did you notice this statement on longhairedjewels in the seller's profile?

"The stained and natural sticks are treated with Pure Tung Oil which is a natural seed oil that protects the wood."

I've bought quite a lot of sticks from this site and never smelt smoke from them (speaks as a very boring non-smoker who hates any smokey smell) so I was surprised when I read what you said about the smell.
Maybe it's the Tung Oil you're smelling?

Be careful if you wash the hairstick for I murdered my much loved Body Shop wooden comb last year when I washed it - doing so caused the wood to swell and damaged the comb beyond use. :(

I know someone who rubs essential oils into wooden items to make them smell nice so maybe if you rub the hairstick with essential oil that might do the trick. :)

Ah, I'm now exceedingly glad I didn't mention the scent in the feedback! I was a bad buyer and didn't read the profile. :o I don't actually know what Tung Oil smells like, so it could very much be that. Thanks for the warning too; I've sent my stick to live in my box of perfumes for a day or two, so hopefully that'll do the trick. :)

I've ordered a holly stick and a pine stick. I'll let you know how they work when they come - I'm excited about them, as I'm hoping to collect a stick in each of the major woods. :)

I've just noticed today that http://longhairedjewels.com/ are now the offical distributors of Ketylos in the UK - I've just bought my first Ketylo from it! It's turquoise and I can't wait to get it!

Wow those are so pretty. I wish I had enough hair to use sticks and toys.

Wow those are so pretty. I wish I had enough hair to use sticks and toys.

I recently had to chop my hair to sixteen inches due to damage but I'm so addicted to hairsticks I simply used them to secure half-ups.
Now my hair is down to my shoulders and I'm back to using them to secure my hair properly again so I can see myself buying a lot of these Ketylos!

I'm sorry if resurrecting this is a bit annoying but I just wanted to say how wonderful the lady from longhaired jewels was when helping and advising me. I am so happy with my fork and ketylos! And she posted them so quickly! Highly recommended!

I've bought a few things in the past from longhairedjewels and always been amazed at the fab service. Just went to find the site and there's issues getting it to open. Anyone know if it's just internet glitches or if it's now closed? Figured might be better to ask here before emailing!

I cannot get the site to work either.
