This is me with my hair at its longest. I didn't know how ot care for it and having a sick very small baby to take care of I decided to cut it. I hadn't worn it down twice in two years. I have no idea how long it was as I never meaured it - I was starting to sit on it and I think from guesstimates and adding some of the hair to mine now (I kept a few pieces) It was nearly classic.

So OH cut it to BSL - when wet and without braid waves. Yikes

This is me roughly six months post chop- I had just found LHC and realised I had made a huge error

First length shot start July 2010 - nearly waist with braid waves

Then this is when I decided I hit waist - about end of August - still in braidwaves

These are this week - wet it is hip length - note I still have braidwaves. I am so chubby I dont' knoe quite where hip is - I think I am 1-2 inches off

Note the dodgy hemline - OH cut it scissors a straight line - The top of my hair is straight-ish under neath is really wavey. The front pieces easily touch my bellybutton with braidwaves and beneath when straight - SHOULD I EVEN UP?

This is the saddest picture - see how short my braid is - it's not a good one. I counted I now have 9 bumps when done properly compared to 15 before. I think my hair has grown about 6 inches this year - which isn't bad considering I have had huge hormonal problems

Sad you had such a big chop! but good you are growing FAST! We are about the same lenght and im the same boat, whether to cut the ends to make a nice thick hemline or letting it grow just a bit more.
I finally decided im going to grow until ill fully reach hip,or a cm past hip and then get a trim.
I think it will only take me around 2 to 3 months so its worth the try.
hope you will get back to desireable lenght soon.Happy growing!

You have an amazingly thick braid! It's such a shame you needed to cut it, but it's great you're growing it back!

Very pretty! I think you can wait on that trim as long as your ends are not damaged. Wavy hair rarely looks even.

Do you really think it is hip length - I thinkI am 1-2 inches off - but then I tend to look at the underneath super wavy layer which to me is just past waist.

Thank you for you r comments - I wish I had found here before I cut my hair as I would be on my way to knee now but hey ho

Your ends look fine, and it seems like you mostly wear your hair in a braid, so you're extra fine! :)

Thank you . I was working how long it would take me to get back the 15-18 inches I cut off. First I thought my hair was last this length in feb/March 2007 and The top picture was Oct 2009 - so thats a little over 2.5 years. Then I thought hang on I have alrerayd grown back 6 lost inches (nto counting the trims I have done) in one year. So my hair must have only grown approx 9-12 inches in the 2.5 years from Mar 07 to Oct 09 - but then I realised I had two babies in that time and cut at least 2-3 inches off on one occasion. So I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will regain the remaing 9-12 inches in about 2 years.
