Updo challenged and needing some help??

Hi everyone :) sorry long time no see. I havent been around much latley but I would really appreciate some help with an updo for a party. I have naturally curly hair and want to create something really romantic to go with my dress.

Do i just need to pin up random curls?? Underneath the picture it actually says its a ponytail but I actually dont see how lol

It looks like you could pull it into a high ponytail and then 'tack' some of your curls up and over it to disguise it. I did something similar a while back on a day where my hair wasn't going to cooperate any other way. It stayed up pretty well.

I had a similar style I used to do all the time: take your hair and gather it together at the nape of your neck. Twist it all clockwise, then bring your hand up so that you've got an "upside-down ponytail" with sort of a bun-like loop at the bottom. Clip with your favorite hairtoy and go!

I hope that explanation makes sense...it's actually really easy, though it takes a couple of tries to get the hang of it. You could pin some of the curls a little higher on your head, but I always just had it hanging back.

Yes, it's a ponytail with individual strands pinned up. The problem is it's only going to work if your hair is fairly short, and it absolutely won't work on slippery hair. If you like that look, and find that it doesn't work at your length, there are a lot of French twist variations that give a similar result.

You might also find that a figure-8 or infinity bun can be done in a messy variant that lets you do the cascade of curls look.
