I love watching films and t.v shows set in the past, recently i was watching Poirot and loved the glamours hairstyles of the ladies so i tried re-creating one. They all had the sides twisted and finishing in a low bun.

I know they wouldn't of used claw clamps or hair forks but i think i like the overall look ...i feel quite glamours :)

that looks really elegant :). The twisted sides and the low bun is a really easy and nice look. Love period movies too ;)

That is *so* pretty!

My hair is too thin and sleek for that, my side rolls are no bigger than pencils, there's no halo of soft hair, and my bun is just a little lump. Sigh....

Very elegant! It looks a little gibson tuck-ish but with twists on the side. I can't wait until my hair is long enough to do awesome styles like this! :)

It works on F hair. It's more subtle, and due to the slippery it can take practice to get the hair-rolls part down. Still ends up really pretty! It's a style I've been working at for a while because a plain bun looks terrible on me.

And it's worth the trouble. Fits under a bike helmet or a hat!

That looks great. I love the rolls into a bun look but I really need to practice. I am not very good at them. I think they used side combs back then but I have never managed to get those to work in my hair. As a kid I tried to get them to work and my hair always spit them out. I like the claws just as much, and I have a few cute little claws that need a chance to get worn.

If your clips are quite big ones like mine you could make a bun with them...now that gives me an idea :)
