I've noticed quite a few split ends, and after a year of having no trims, I think it's time to take off .25-.50". I'm wondering if split ends can cause the ends of my hair to flip out? Granted I'm a couple inches past shoulder and it has a little flip to it, it seems like it still has more than it should and I'm wondering if that could be from the damage?

Bumping for responses! Even if it's just a "no, you're crazy"! :)

Sounds like your more at flip length than shoulder, keep growing for a few months until you reach shoulder and the flip will calm down, it could be you have a wave or curl that will come out more the long you get.

I don't think that split ends can make your ends flip outward. Damage can make your ends look more fuzzy, fluffy, or frizzy (whatever you want to call it). It's probably the curve of your body making your ends flip out.
