Weird tuft of hair growing in

So for a while now I've had a funny tuft of hair growing in. It's in the middle layer of my hair, right above my ear. It never got cut, nor did I have a bald spot- it's just thicker in that spot now. It's now (thankfully!) long enough to tuck behind my ear- before it floofed out and looked terrible! However, it sometimes falls out of updos and makes it look silly. It's not huge (maybe 1/4 diameter if I twist it), but still noticeable. Anyone else had a similar experience?

Don't worry, it just means that new hair is growing in, which is a good sign of growth! That poof you saw is your baby hairs. Soon they'll get long enough to replace your ends. Maybe others can explain this better than me.

All around on the edges of where my hair and open skin meet, big long poofy curly baby hairs. And the ones above my ears ALWAYS come out everyday. They give my horns i swear. But they're long enough to tuck away easier now
