Are there any light blonde henna colors?
Jazzy (sp?) & Clariol's colors are darker than what I want.
All I can find are demi-perm in the colors I want (around light blonde with a gold base). Is demi totally horrible? I have to bleach my hair twice & then tone should I steer clear of the demi perms and stick to henna?

P.S. I do not double process bleach the same day & i do protein before & after I bleach.

Henna doesn't stain blonde. A product that claims otherwise has other ingredients aside from henna, and the results can go either way. Word of caution...

Well then that eliminates henna completely, lol.

Thank You!

You're full of lots of helpful advice, lol

If you pop over to the herbal part of the forum, there are threads on honey lightening and cassia and catnip which both have a natural yellow stain. There are also some articles on herbal haircolouring.

What is your natural colour?

Yeah and pic of your hair in it's current colour would be nice to see too :)

Well if you have to bleach your hair then you probably want a lighter color than your natural color and neither henna nor cassia nor catnip can lighten your color.

If you want to lighten your hair naturally you can use Honey Lightening (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=61) or Cinnamon (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=2125&highlight=cinnamon).

You can always use Cassia (http://www.mehandi.com/shop/cassiaobovatabuy.html) for gloss, but it only works on already blond or white hair.

Unfortunately, I don't think you'll be able to achieve such a light colour with anything natural unless you didn't mind waiting months+ for results. The only way to achieve light hair on dark is to use peroxide. Sorry :/

My hair is already bleached (above pictures); I want to stain my hair color so it's all one uniform blonde color.

My apologies. I thought you were wanting to tone your dark brown hair to match the blonde! Since you're looking to tone the blonde parts, cassia may be the right thing for you.

LOL sorry I probably wasn't clear. I will try cassia where can I buy it and it's an herb correct?

It's similar to henna, except it dyes yellowish and is very conditioning. There are lots of places that one can buy pure cassia online (I'm not sure where you live, so I cannot make any local suggestions).

Can I buy coconut oil in a health food store or hair store? Like is it actual oil you can eat or like a hair thing you can not eat, lol

If you click the link I posted above you'll see photos of the color you could expect plus some extra information on how to apply and everything.

I bought mine from here: http://www.amazon.com/Nutiva-Organic-Virgin-Coconut-15-Ounce/dp/B001EO5Q64/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1291414547&sr=8-1

But I hear you could find it at local health food stores. There is no difference between the kind you use for cooking and the kind you can use for you hair.

Sorry for removing the coconut oil link above. Here it is again:
The uses of coconut oil (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=53786&highlight=coconut+oil)
Remember overnight coconut oil treatment and then apply the bleach over the still oiled hair the next day, without washing it first.

The conditioning lasts about a month, so I assume the colour lasts as long. I'm afraid my hair is too dark to colour so I dont know.

Virgin, unrefined coconut oil is generally considered a favourite and you would hopefully get that in a health food store quite easily. You can buy refined coconut oil in the cooking section of a supermarket if you can't find the virgin stuff.

Blond hair is NOT real henna at all!!!

And it is really damaging for the hair, even more damaging than any modern bleach.

If you still want to go lighter dramatically, use Wella bleaching cream with 1,6-3% peroxide).

Or if you jsut want it a little bit lighter, try honey treatments. I think there is a huge thread on honey lightening somewhere

ETA Oops, sorry. Just read the whole thread. Good luck with Cassia! ;)

Aww. I'm glad I could help.

Before you do it, read as much of the cassia thread as you can, and I recommend strand testing incase the colour doesn't turn out as you want.

I can tell you from my towels that it's not like a tumeric yellow stain or anything; it's far more natural than that. :p
