Hi everyone!!, I've been researching so many hair growth tips these past few days and am wondering what's the thing (product, supplement, massage etc) that has worked MOST for you, to get faster growth? and how much growth are you currently getting?
Thanks!! :)

Personally the only things I have found that work for increased growth are castor oil, horsetail pills and iron suppliments (if you are iron defficient). Some people say biotin increases growth rate but for me it only helped with thickness. The thing that has worked best for my growth rate by far is actually a perscription pill that has (among other odd side effects) the ability to increase growth rate. All things considered, I currently get around 1.25-1.5 inches a month.

This. But include S&D to cut split ends as resulting damage may cause issues.

The best tip I have is to be patient and gentle.

I'm going to have to go with patience. In about two more years I will be at a totally rocking length!

My hair isn't long but it is healthy, I don't color it, blowdry it or use heat on it at all. I am currently trying to cut down on brushing it with my crappy plastic brush(or should I call it THE RIPPER?), at least until I get a natural fiber brush and a wide tooth comb.

lol that was funny! I would pay $$$$ for that bottle! Anyway...I am starting monistat one the 1st...I dyed a piece of my hair so I can see growth...I will keep you posted...Seems like that worked for a lot of people...I am just afraid about the headaches!

1) Patience.
2) S&D.
3) Wearing it up to avoid damage.
4) Gentleness when detangling.
5) More patience.

The best tip, I think out of everything, is to not trim at all. No dustings, no trims, nothing. Let it grow. :)

Maybe, but it depends on your hair type. I have very fine hair so when I tried this method, for me, it didn't work well at all. I had growth of course, but I had to cut off half of it anyway due to damage. I've found for *my* hair more frequent, but smaller trims (1/4 inch or less every 6 to 8 weeks) is the way to go. I end up having to trim off much less that way in the long term.

To the OP, the most important thing I've learned from TLHC in the time I've been here is that every one's hair is different. There is no magic bullet, what works amazingly well for one head of hair will not work at all for another. Be patient, try new things (one at a time so if it works you know which new "hair adventure" was the good one!) and relax, your hair *will* grow ;)

Out of all the things I have tried (and there have been many) the best thing was biotin. Once I started taking biotin my hair started growing a lot faster.

Massage (try SnowyMoon's technique) has helped the most, along with biotin and iron supplements. I'm trying monistat and a growth oil in conjunction to see what happens! (Not on the same days, though.)
