Hi ladies, I have been using horn combs for almost a decade now, but they are not of the best quality. They often split within 4 months of usage even though I oiled them often and don't use them on damp hair. So I was wondering if someone could recommend me to a good online seller of horn combs?
I also wanted to get a bone comb for when I absolutely have to comb my hair when it's wet, so it would be great if someone could recommend some sellers of that too.
Thank you so much!

I bought my horn comb at a site called littlebusinessworld(.)com. This purchase was made over two yrs ago and my comb is still working like a charm. I don't oil my horn comb though...
The site states they only collect the horns of animals that have naturally fallen, good to know :)

I have two horn combs from Heavenly Harvest (https://heavenlyharvest.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=80_61&zenid=rehh569rhu0664an19nob1bje5) that I like very much. I've had them for over a year now (maybe more?) and they are pretty sturdy work horses.

I am very clumsy and have dropped them in my sink and on the floor without any damage to them. (Not that I advise dropping them!)

I barely remember to oil them, unless I happen to remember while I am oiling my hair at the same time while combing, to rub a little on them. They're still doing fine, in spite of it.

Have you tried looking on Etsy? A quick search brings up a whole bunch! :)

I love my Heavenly Harvest combs too. I Have two of them, one was sent to me split and they quickly and efficiently replaced it and the second comb I've been using for a while just fine. I even use it on my wet hair occasionally. I think they're fine as long as you remember to oil them (oil repels water after all) and dry them off after brushing through wet hair.

I got mine from this Ebay seller: http://cgi.ebay.com/16-cm-Strong-WIDE-Teeth-Tibet-Yak-Horn-Carved-Comb-Y15-/280597841506?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4154ef4662

It is Yak horn which is supposed to be denser than buffalo or cow horn so it is sturdier and less likely to smell.

Same experience here, but I don't oil mine. If it gets oil from my hair, fine, but very rarely oil that as well. It has survived dropping although it always makes me cringe. I bought one for a friend of mine who is also a bit of a rough handler and hers has survived. Good quality.

ETA: I only comb wet hair (because if it's dry, I brush it). I just wipe the comb on my shirt when I'm finished and that's it.
