Hi everyone, I want you all to see what a great job Walt Disney World did on Rapunzel's hair and outfit:

Here is a close up of the back (though scrunched up)

I think I see two dutch braids, one thick french braid with a thin one inside it, a hair net and decorations. It's also really interesting how they tied it off..??

Anyway, I'm not a skilled hair stylist - does this make anyone possibly want to make an inspired tutorial? Please oh please.. :D

:blossom:

P.S.
Maybe we would all wear it to the movie!

It's beautifully done but I'm so glad I'm not the one wearing that wig - it must weigh a ton, it's so thick!

Oooh, thank you thank you for linking to those photos. I totally want to go to Disneyland just to get my photo taken with whatever lady is being Rapunzel that day!

(Yes, I am a great big baby...)

I looked at the picture that shows the front and side and it seems that there are two braids on each side, an interlocked French and Dutch braid. I'm trying to figure out how that would work...

ETA: ooh, never mind I think I just figured it out. Once the Dutch braid reaches the earlobe, you start a french braid using half of the strands from the dutch braid, and you use the other strands from the original Dutch to wind into whatever braid you want in the back.

Well, it looks like therer are two dutch braids that are morphed together at the nape of the neck into a large (read that as horribly humongous) english braid. I don't see any way those two dutch braids could make the mass of hair in that english braid.

It is really, really beautiful, but I think that Rapunzel's hair style will have to remain in the realm of fantasy. I am sure we could get a similar style going somehow but unless the average person adds a ton of extentions I don't see it as a viable style. Darn it all anyway.

I will be practicing this for a while!

Yes I'd love to have my picture taken with her too. I can't wait to see the movie soon.

I go to Disneyland annually, and this year Tangled was in theaters so we saw it while there and all of these little girls kept coming up to me and asking if my hair was real lol
