I was messing with my grease pit hair today and found out I can do a single french braid! Pardon my oilyness :joy:

This probably won't work on dry, clean hair. Too many layers, but it's definitely an accomplishment. I'm going to try it on wet hair to see if I can get it to stay in later :D

Inside, my hair isn't nearly that dark

Congratulations, I also remeber when I found that I can do a braid, I was extremely happy. Your looks nice, I canīt do a french braid on my self yet...And you have a very pretty color.

Congrats!

Even if you can't get your hair to stay in the braid when it's clean and dry, at least you have reached a milestone! I'm happy for you.

And, your hair color is gorgeous in the sunlight!

Congrats! My hair is a tiny bit shorter than yours, and my french braid ends at the top of my neck.
BTW- doesn't look oily at all, just shiny.

woo hoo! You might wanna try double french braids, my hair stayed in those at chin-length even when clean and slippery :)

Congrats and it looks really smooth. Can't tell if its greasy from the pic. Besides I find a little oil goes a long way smoothing out styles like braids and sock buns. At least its not a crusty gel or spray. Nice work!

Wow. That's a great french braid you did there, kwaniesiam! It looks nice and shiny. It gains more in the light, too!

Wow, I'm impressed! That is a very nice french braid (I can never get them right). It looks really nice on you... and certainly not *tiny* at all. Looks like this will be a nice summer hairdo for you. Kudos! :disco:

Very nice french braid! I'm braid impaired, with only the ability to perform the simplest 3 strand braid. Your hair looks very shiny and healthy.

Well done!! All the best with trying it another time--I often use the water-oil trick to get my hair to stay up better. Your braid today looks pretty good though :-)

Very well done! :D

I am impressed, I can't french braid my hair to save my life. Yours looks great!

Thank you everyone :flowers:

I tried the double braids, it works better but they look so skinny and puny, and there's this big white, wide part between them so I don't think I'll be wearing that one much

It is lovely, and oily hair enhances the shine in braids.

:) Thank you, sahiba, jojo, and renarok.

Oil certainly does enhance shine, I saw an Indian woman with tailbone length braided hair today at my local health food store looking at coconut oil, and I complimented her hair and asked what she did to it. She smiled and pointed to the jar :D

It was just a few months ago that I made my first French braid! Isn't it a great moment? :)

You did that by yourself? Impressive, when I do it myself it always looks messed up and uneven.

Thank you everyone :)

I've been able to braid for a while, this is just the first attempt now that my hair is shorter.
