I've just done the best thing ever (for my hair that is). I put one table spoon of cassia in a bowl and poured half a liter of boiling water over it. Let it sit for half an hour, filtered it and poured the "tea" into a spray bottle. All I have to do now is to spray my hair with it after a wash of before bed and just leave it.
Fast, easy, no mess and shiny and coditioned hair all the time. The result is amazing!
Just had to share this with you all :)

Hmmm, sounds interesting! I could definitely do that, since I have 2 pounds (!) of herbco cassia sitting around.
Do you know how long the mixture will stay good for? I have mixed cassia with conditioner and left it in a bottle, and it gets funky after a week or two.

Cassia Obovata (I think) is the Latin name for it, so that would probably be the name you'd find it as. It's sometimes called "neutral henna" because it's a herb used in the same ways as henna but it barely imparts colour. It also isn't permanent like henna, so less regrets if you don't get on!
There's a massive thread on it in the herbal section. You might find an online seller reccomended there too.
I'd be worried about the bacteria growth in the spray bottle; that's my only worry when powders are mixed with liquids and kept for a long time. Keep an eye on it!

Oh, almost forgot. I also put a few drops of ACV into the mix (a very few drops!).
I've no idea as too how long the mix will stay good though but I'm guessing a good while since i filtered it (there's no actual residue left in the "tea" so it should take longer for it to go bad).

From looking on Google.es, I found Cassia Obovata listed also as casia and sen de españa. Would this site (http://www.botanical-online.com/medicinalcasiaespecies.htm) help? Cassia obovata is a natural conditioning plant that's ground into powder and can be used to give hair shine, almost like henna (http://www.lindisima.com/pelo/henna.htm), but does not dye the hair the red-orange color that henna (http://www.innatia.com/s/c-henna/a-henna-cabello.html) does.

I just made some of this, and can't wait to try it. I've been having problems with frizz lately.

Okay, I used it today, and it really helped a lot. I have a lot of new growth that is misbehaving, because I can't put conditioner on my roots (too heavy, makes it greasy). After I washed today, CWC, I just liberally sprayed this on the tops and sides on my hair, where the new growth sticks straight up, making my updo look terrible. It has really helped! Nothing makes my baby hairs lie flat, but this is a definite improvement.
Thank, OP, I love simple ideas like this.

I actually have a little bit of cassia powder in my freezer and I have been at a loss on how to put it to good use. I'd love to try this sometime! Thanks for sharing!
