help cant find coconut oil

I live in Mexico ... but i cant seem to find coconut oil anywhere and the ironic thing is i live 5 hours from the ocean and they dont have coconut oil?!:confused: so any way i woule really like to get some coconut oil but the way things look im not gonna get any while im living in mexico... i want to know what other kind of oil or products would work as well as coconut oil that r not so expensive:)


another thing i wanted to ask is cinnamon dmaging to hair?
and would anyone know what catnip is in spanish?:)thnx

No coconut oil in Mexico? Wow. I get my coconut oil at gardenofwisdom dot com. They ship internationally. They call coconut oil 'coconut cream', and it's wonderful.

lol i have live in mexico most of my life and i have never seen that at least not authentic mexican food...

Do you have Wal-Mart in Mexico? If so check the cooking oil section. Or any natural foods grocery store. But I know those may be non-existant in Mexico.

there was several walmarts where i used to live (16 hours away of where i live right now closer to the border) but down here its really hard to find stuff

Get it at a bakers/candy maker store (Reposteria? I don't know how to translate it. Ask around on stores that sell cookie or chocolate molds, materias primas para reposteria), and ask for it as coconut lard (manteca de coco).

Otherwise go to a naturist store, they must have it liquid. That's how I got my first bottle, now I get 1kg for really cheap at an exotic/gourmet store in a market because it is a lot cheaper.

I don't know if you speak spanish, so I wrote most of this in english. Hope that helps!

Querétaro, where do you live? Yes, it is the solid, unrefined virgin coconut oil. They don't add anythinh to it, and I believe it is used to make chocolate on colder weather. I can't get it in summer on most stores, but winter, it is a lot easier to find.

Ground cinnamon used in honey lightening or on its own is not damaging to hair or skin. It can however be a strong irritant, so I recommend not using too much at one time and diluting it well with distilled water or in conditioner. For lightening, use
distilled water ot tap water only. Some conditioner ingredients can impede lightening and conditioner pH is too too acidic to for the best results.

I'm in Mexico too and coconut oil is tricky, but you can find it. Go to a traditional drugstore/botica, not the selfservice kind and ask for it. They usually have it in the trastienda in the fridge and it's about $15 (1dll) for 100 gr. Or you can order it online at http://www.cosmotienda.com. They have lots of great stuff.

Catnip is hierba gatera, hierba gatuna, hierba del gato... I buy mine at the hierberia at the market downtown, but not every store carries it. Some pet stores have it too.
