The dh thinks I'm obsessive compulsive when I start looking for split ends or make a dash for a pair of scissors because I found one. Last night he brought me a magnifying glass to help find them - enabler! Fortunately I only found about a dozen or so even with the magnifier.

That's pretty funny. I have to hide from DH if I want to S&D. He finds it so totally irritating; I'm not sure why.

I think deep down he sees that your S&D ritual helps keep your hair healthy, so he enables you. Does he totally love long hair? Maybe thats why he can't bear to watch you do it. :)

My dd knows about my s&d, but I haven't shared this ritual with dh. I guess I think he would find it very "ocd". Maybe that's why I enjoy it - I'm a little obsessive.:ponder:

My dh still looks at me a little weird but he always knows where my scissors are if I can't find them. And he distracts me if I happen to spend a little too much time on it cuz really, sometimes I could be there for hours. OCD much?

Well I am not married but my parents think I am insane. They really do not understand any of my hair care routines!

My DH doesn't care if I S&D, but does anyone else find themselves in this weird timewarp when you S&D? It's like I plan to do it for 10 or 15 min. while I'm watching TV and all the sudden, I look up, and 30 or 40 min. has gone by! I guess time flies when you're having fun (or doing hair stuff)

The post makes me sad! LOL I lost my S&D scissors. And just after I found a lovely magnifying glass to test this method with too!!

I usually do it when no one else is around, nothing else to do. I really dont s & d very often. I bought a new scissor, again, just for cutting hair. My kids or husband, find where I have them stashed and use them for other things, just tonight, they were talking about my haircutting scissors being outside by the dog kennels. Luckily, they are the old ones, not my brand new pair.
