View Full Version : Widow's Peak?

Antipodienne

I have a very pronounced center widow's peak, and two little ones toward the outside of my forehead. The overall effect is that my hairline turns my forehead into a heart shape. It's kinda cute, if you ask me. ;)
So what does your hairline look like? Is it flat, pointy, a nice creative squiggle?

Widow's peak here too. The hairs always tend to stay short there and some of them even curl! One of my friends once said that I looked liked superman with it D:

Overall my hairline's not very even, looks worse when brushed back so I just tend to keep it down, or at least not brushed back.

Not to mention the fact that my widow's peak acts like a cowlick, LOL

Ha! I just had a zany idea. What if we all posted our hairline shapes as our statuses on Facebook and really give everyone a thrill...pointy, flat, curly, etc. All of those shorthairs out there would be scratching their heads in confusion...:D

I have a widow's peak as well, thanks to my dad. :) Mine is easily identifiable as a widow's peak, but soft, my father's look like Eddie Munster. :D

My widows peak is quite soft. I love it! :D Gives an awesome elfy/vampirey unique look in my opinion. Shows in my profile pic:

A little on here: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?albumid=5484&pictureid=86690
Here it is straight ahead: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?albumid=5484&pictureid=86816

It does make my face look rather heart shaped instead of the undesirable (on my face) square/round face I have.

LOL at the idea! I'd so do it. Count me in? ;)

Small widow's peak here, quite subtle actually, and barely noticeable if I wear my hair to the side.

I have a widow's peak, but it's not as pronounced as it was when I was in high school and younger. I have never liked it but, oh well! It me feel like a vampire because unlike the photo above mine is really and was really sharp.

I also have a widows peak! In college, someone was playing with a lighter and back in the day, I used hair spray......I lost about 1" of my hair line including the wp and my scalp was burnt :( Now, it's growing back thanks to castor oil! The hair is growing in coarser, but eventually it will be perfect again!

LOL, I shaved mines off recently. But I have a tiny V, and since it's curly, it looks like this weird, s-shaped squiggle. I put castor oil in my hair for the past week and it's growing in coarser though, which does make me happy. I buzz cut my nape too for a more even, presentable appearance when I wear updos, but even that hair is growing in coarser. I'll just let it grow this time to see what happens.

No widow's peak here. :(
I've always wanted one, too, but no such luck.
My best friend has a reverse widow's peak. She hates it.

I have a hate-hate relationship with my hairline. I have like... half a widow's peak. I don't like it at all.

I have one too. I like it, makes a nice starting point for measuring the hairlength. ;)
And because the hair above my temples is so thin, my face would be quite heart-shaped if I would comb all the hair back. I don't really like this part of my hairline, I wish I had a little more hair there... Ah well. At least I like my widow's peak. :) Took me some time to really like it.

I wish i had a widow's peak. my hairline is square i guess.. straight across on the top and then straight down for maybe an inch and a half, then back an inch, then down to my sideburns.

I have a widow's peak also, then thinnnish indented temples before the hair swings back in towards my face a bit. I have had bangs for most of my life so I didn't realize it until OP said it, but yes they give my oval face a pseudo-heart shape.

I have a widows peak. It was much more pronounced when I was younger. Now, it's very subtle - my bangs probably conceal it as well. I like it.

Oh, how I wish my hairline were completely straight. Every time I buzz off my Widow's Peak, it grows back in like a week. Boo! Makes my forehead look like the McDonald's golden arches, lol.

I have one too, courtesy of my mom. A rather pronounced one in the center of my forehead and another one on the right side below my temple (a little one on the left too but not as noticeable). I hate them! I don't have bangs (maybe I should?) but I am very careful when I pull my hair back. It's always loose enough to hide my hideous hairline!

Small widow's peak here- it's not too noticeable since I wear my hair side-parted- I just don't puul it straight back because then I think it looks a little silly on me.

I have a small widow's peak, not very noticeable but I can't part my hair in the middle or it goes all funny. Plus with my bull horn waves, it's annoying!

EDIT: I just realized my bull horn waves are cowlicks. Grr. And right at the hairline!

I have only a very slight widow's peak, but I have a weird hairline about where my eyebrows extend - They almost touch, and there's kind of a no-man's land of pseudo eyebrow hairs that grow in (mercifully light blond) there that I usually just pull out when I clean up my eyebrows.

I have what I consider a "kinda strong" widow's peak. I hated it when I was younger because side parts make my face look best but the hairline looks awful! It seems to have gotten better/less pronounced as I've gotten older. Or I've grown more tolerant. :o

I have a widow's peak, though I have no idea if it's considered pronounced or not. It's definitely noticeable, especially since my hairline is low to begin with. I used to lament that I couldn't wear shorter bangs; anything shorter than chin length parts right at the peak and curls into bull-horn waves on either side of it. (Baaaad_kitty, I never knew what to call them! But of course that's what they are!)

But I've always liked that my hairline is a little different. I think it adds character! (Though, at this stage in the game, I could probably use a little less of that...)

I have a widow's peak, but I kind of like mine!!:p It's not gigantic or anything, but it is noticeable. I think they are unique. Always wondered what it might be like to have a different shaped hairline though.
Kind of an odd thing to wonder about lol.

I used to have a really pronounced one but in early high school I stole my mother's tweezers and plucked it out. It never grew back and that made me much happier. If only other hair I pluck out would stay gone as well.... Now I have a rounded and mostly even hair line at the top.

I seem to be totally devoid of a central widows peak. But I do seem to have some slight "outcroppings" on each side ...:)
I guess overall, my hairline is in the shape of a hefty three leaf shamrock or something :o

I don't have one at all. Neither do most of my family members. x3 I think if I did though, I'd appreciate the extra bit of hair. I wonder if having a widow's peak makes it look better when you have bangs because there's fullness?

Theobroma
December 14th, 2010, 04:35 AM
I have one. I really have no feelings about it one way or another, except that the hair right there doesn't grow straight out, but lies towards the right and so my hairline ends up looking crooked if I do a centre part. It only really looks symmetrical if I scrape my hair straight back, but as I quite like that look on me, I'm OK with it.

I love my widow's peak! It is quite pronounced and pointy. :D Sometimes I actually enhance it with powder (like one would for thin brows). I usually wear my hair in a center part that happens to show off my widow's peak.

I'm also an artist, and nearly all my depictions of people have widow's peaks. I was drawing a little caricature version of my friend when she said "I don't have one of those:confused:". I wasn't even aware that I was "adding" one. That was just how I drew hair! :p

According to wikipedia ;) There is a tradition of depicting "villains" with widow's peaks. And of course, as far as I'm concerned, a vampire isn't a vampire without a widow's peak! Just kidding, as I didn't notice too many in "Interview with a Vampire" (which is the ONLY legitimate modern vampire movie! That's right I said it! *mutter* glitter??? *grumble*).

*Ducks stones thrown by Twilight fans*

Anyhoo, the "villain" association makes it all the better for me. I'm a Scorpio and I think it adds to my "street cred". lol!

I am very envious when I see a widow's peak. I want one so badly that I have honestly given thought to having my hair surgically changed to do it. Like those "stop balding now" commercials where they take hair from the back of your head and "plant" it into the front.

I'm giving up the unequal struggle with my widow's peak and the resulting cowlicks, and I'm finally growing out my fringe (bangs). I had exactly the trouble that you describe: when I was a teenager my obnoxious younger brothers used to tease me about my "horns".

To make my fringe lie flat, I had to wash it each morning and blowdry it and frankly, I've had enough. I'm embracing my high forehead and hoping I'll look classically elegant without a fringe. :hmm:

I have a hairline shape a lot like the OP. A widow's peak in the middle, and kinda one on each side. I have a cowlick on the right side which is where my natural part is. But this is all covered with short bangs. :D I like bangs because they highlight my eyebrows and face shape as long as I keep them short.
