For once I am active around my anniversary so I thought it was about time I made a post ^_^

I just want to thank everyone at LHC for all the advice! Without you guys I'm sure I'd have no chance of reaching my goal (TB) but now I am only 2" away! I have wanted hair that long ever since I could remember, but due to its fine and breakable nature I am finding it quite a challenge to get much growth past waist.

I used to NEVER tie up my hair, and hated how I looked with it up so that didn't help. But also thanks to LHC I am about to finish a 60 updo challenge! So not only am I inspired to tie it up more, but I actually know more than 60 updo styles :D

In 2002 I went from mid back length to shoulder, it's the last big chop I ever had

By the end of 2003 my hair was back to BSL

By 2004 my hair was waist length, but a mess. I left it down all the time in my very windy city! I cut in layers, brushed out the waves and generally wasn't treating it that great.

I joined in 2005 and lurked on LHC, finally picking up a few better habits - but still not tying up my hair! I did however S&D and stop brushing my hair so much.

2005 my hair finally learns to curl! With my bro

2007 after a trim

2008? Very poufy in this pic! I began to run into problems with breakage, and basically stalled around here. Many people told me I would never grow longer than hip due to my fine hair :(
http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?albumid=3782&pictureid=86857

I grew out my fringe and my layers, and although I was well on my way to hip length by 2009, my hair still had quite a taper

This is taken not long after the other, just to show how different my hair can look :P Frustrating to compare! haha
http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?albumid=2713&pictureid=34507

I trimmed a lot in 2009 trying to thicken my hem line, and finally started tying my hair up regularly
http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?albumid=2713&pictureid=46026

2009 vs 2010 vs stretched
http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?albumid=2713&pictureid=73577

2010 I'm doing a no-trim year to get some growth, and experimenting with gels & different products to see what kind of curls I like best. Here with Flaxseed Gel, interesting how it looks the thickest in this photo!

August 2010 - with no trimming I am getting noticeable growth finally, although at the expense of thicker ends. However these two were taken on the same day!
http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?albumid=2713&pictureid=84158 http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?albumid=2713&pictureid=84159

And finally, more experimenting with texture. I am kind of itching for a trim but will definitely wait until December!

And so with the help of LHC I have come a long way despite slow growth and breakage!! I just wanted to thank you all :D Next stop, hopefully TB!

You have my favourite hair colour ever. I always wished to have been born with this exact shade, and though I've tried many methods to achieve it unnaturally, nothing compares to the real thing. BEAUTIFUL!

Thanks for sharing the hard times, but ESPECIALLY the PAYOFF!!!! WOW! Very nice! I hope I see as much progress as you've had by 5 years. (3 more to go for me!). Have you used coconut oil at all?

Aww thanks everyone, you are so sweet!:crush: :inlove: :flower:
Especially people saying they actually like my ends.. I am rather frustrated with them right now, but if I trim I may never reach TB. Last year I only trimmed a little but I depressingly ended up with ZERO growth, which is why I'm trying no trimming this year!

And kudos for having a long haired brother.

Yay for long-haired bros! :D He still has long hair and didn't look too pleased when I was trying to be helpful and explain to him how he could trim his own hair if he wanted. But at least that means he hopefully won't cut it soon :eyebrows:
I'm also amazed at how similar our hair is if you cut out the colour difference. If he kept it short I never would have realised!

Have you used coconut oil at all?

Yes I did try it at one point but it makes my hair a bit crunchy. My favourite oil is jojoba! I don't use it so often these days since I found catnip though, which makes my fine hair super moisturised without being greasy!
