View Full Version : Best tutorial on french braiding your OWN hair?

I've seen the dreambraids site, but it mostly shows how to french braid someone else's hair. And most of the ones on youtube show how to do a side french braid

When I french braid my own hair, the hair furthest to the site tends to sage because it's too far from the braid. And no matter how tightly I try to braid it, the braid starts down near the middle of my neck. Any help or pointers (or tutorials) would be appreciated!

Torrin Page has great tutorials! She talks in a manner that does not leave you confused, she shows what she is doing on her head so you can actually see it, and yes, her arms get tired too!

I agree, her videos are great. I was actually able to do a five strand french braid by watching one of her tutorials.

Some people have found that watching more than one person works well for them. Different people present things differently. Good luck! It's a style I haven't mastered yet either.
