My hair is too short for a log roll, but too long for a French Twist. Since this is such a convenient way to wear hair, does anyone have any recommendations for styles? My hair is 30 inches or so since yesterday's trim, and at my waist.

Well, there are definitely a lot of ways to do French twists. Most people find that some methods work better than others for them. CinnamonHair has a method that works for her knee-length hair (http://www.youtube.com/user/CinnamonHair?blend=2&ob=1#p/u/14/WCNHoS5erfw), and Hypnotica has a few modifications on French twists that work for her (http://www.youtube.com/user/4ypn0tica#p/a/u/0/t7ftMoRU-iI). Both have videos on YouTube, and I think both of them have iii hair, so thickness shouldn't be too much of an issue.

I'll bet you can also manage a log roll, though it won't be so impressive as the videos you see from people like Lady Godiva or Eresh. Eadwine does one with shorter hair. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDQ9k1AF_Z4)

Have you tried making a French tail?

I also like the look of a French twist with the ends bunned. There are some beautiful examples in this (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=56895) thread.

Have you tried a flipped cinnamon bun? This can be arranged to look similar to a French twist, just with a bun on top, and it's constructed differently from a regular French twist (much easier with longer lengths, in my opinion.)

Good luck!
