LHC, WHAT IS MY HAIR TYPE? I can't make up my mind. I have three or four different hair types on my head. :confused:

As you can see, in picture one my bottom layer is completely 1a. My midlayer is wavier, and My top layer is a mix of 1a, wavy, and this one goofy ringlet, if you look above the "o" where I wrote "top layer." Then there is a piece of hair in front of my ear that is a complete ringlet too.

This piece of hair is curly all the way down to my shoulder, if you look closely. A black shirt wasn't the best choice for this picture, but I hope you can see it.

I'm thinking 1C or 2A.

My under-layer straightens out just from the weight of the hair on top of it, so I wouldn't use that as the indicator.

not sure of the hair type but my hair does the same thing...only oppisite...the bottom layer is super ringlit curls and the top is almost 1a straight...i"ll have to get pics someday

I'd go with 1C. And the hair around my temples curl just like that!

1c/2a just like mine. It's that condition in which the hair's natural state is not wavy enough to be beautiful but just wavy enough to look messy when straight.

Thanks for your input, everybody! I was hoping that CO would help it all be one hairtype, but it didn't. Oh well :)

I have a similar thing with my hair. It's quite straight at the top, quite wavy towards the bottom on the top layer, with a fair amount of ringlety bits underneath and a lot of frizz at my hairline. Mine is quite a bit wavier than yours though- probably about 2c.

Your bottom layers are very straight, they are pretty much 1a. But your canopy is clearly much wavier, around a 1c to even a 2a. Its not uncommon for one person to have different hairtypes all on the same head, so I wouldn't worry about it. I think it looks pretty cute actually,
at least the waves show up on the crown section of your hair where you want to see them, instead of on the bottom section which would be hidden away and not seen.

Ha, ha! I didn't look at the other posts, but I just posted a new thread exactly like this one! I would say 2A, but my husband disputes my ability to properly type hair. :p

It looks like 1c/2a but some of the bottom layers look more like 1a or b. I wouldn't consider the bottom ones though since they don't show anyway.

Your hairtype is very like mine. I'm lucky because I don't get curl shrinkage - my bottom layer is also quite straight. You might find that like me, your hair will get wavier with length because the S pattern of the wave is quite stretched out so it needs length to make the S (does this make sense???). Here are a couple of pics so you know what I mean. Here is an image from November 2009 when my hair was barely APL and then October 2010 when my hair is past BSL

The waves now have enough length to go around in the stretched out S shape while the underneath layers remain almost straight. I'm sure this will happen to your hair also.
