Been Here A Little Over A Year[Pics]!

I have been here a little over a year and just got around to taking some growth pics. I mostly lurk and must say I love this site and all the great info. I have tried several things suggested here. I do oil occasionally and I now use a wide tooth horn comb on my wet hair. I have tried and tried several buns but it seems my hair is almost too thick or maybe its just me but the only one I have any luck with is the nautilus. I have bought just about every hairtoy shown. My go to hair toy is the Ketylos. Unfortunately as much as I love the Ficcares I just can't seem to get them to hold my hair. [I've not yet tried Cinnamongirls trick to use a Ficcare for thicker hair] Just might be selling them on the swap.

In the past year I have only trimmed 1 1/2" which is very unusual for me. I usually trim a lot more. Now that I have taken the pics I am ready for a good trim. Maybe 3-4". I would really like to thicken my hemline. This is the 2nd time I have had my hair this long. Well the 1st time it was about 5" shorter and I had it cut to shoulder length. I can say that it is really getting very hard to manage just the past few months. And also the 1st time it was long it was really straight and sleek and didnt have these awful waves in it.

JOJO-I am not sure how long I will let it grow. Maybe knee. It is real close now but needs a good trim. As I said, it is starting to get really hard to manage. Even if I decide to keep it at a certain length I am sure it would still be at hip or classic.

Waves rarely cooperate or look the way we want them to...and with very long hair, both changes in care and age of hair affect the presentation of the waves. I've given up worrying about them...including the L-bend at the end from wearing my hair in the same bun all the time.

If you have time and good scissors, S&D can do a lot towards improving the manageability of the ends of the hair...the removal of a relatively small number of damaged ends really reduces the tangle issue...doesn't do anything for neatening/thickening a blunt hemline though, if that is your preference.
