This probably sounds dumb, but when you CWC, do you rinse the first conditioner out before washing, or do you just put the shampoo on over? I am thinking that is the wrong way to do it, I did it today, and my hair is greasy, shedding more, not good. Just curious how others do it.
Thanks!

This is how I do it ...

1. coat length with conditioner
2.wash scalp and roots
3. rinse
4. add more conditioner to length
5. continue showering
6. rinse well.

Thanks!

I have just started CWC this is what I do;
1. oil hair leave it in for about 2 hours
2. slather on LOTS of cheapo conditioner which I leave for 1 hr
3. jump in the shower and wet my scalp just a little bit and lather the conditioner
4. I add a TINY amount of shampoo and wash my roots (over the top of the conditioner
5.then I rinse the whole thing out
6. I then add my heavy conditioner to the lengths and leave it for the rest of the shower
7. rinse well
and I am done

my hair seems to like it like this :cheese:

That's how I've been doing it for the past six or seven years but with a bath inbetween, not shower

Along with what everyone else has said, I'd like to add that if I use shampoo, I usually put the amount of shampoo I want to use in a squeeze bottle and shake it up with some water. This dilutes the shampoo a bit, but also makes it easier to spread over the scalp.

This is my variation:
1) Oil heavily before hand (scalp and lenght, I have very thick frizz prone hair)
2) shampoo scalp with a medium amount (consider the coconut oi!)
3) Condition scalp with non cone condish
4) Condition as much of the lenght as you can evenly muster :D
5) Let dry and apply anti-frizz leave in condish (I use john frieda)

Ok, sounds like most do it the same way, I guess my problem is that it is hard to get my length, without getting it on the scalp too. I will have to experiment with it.
Thanks all!

I do it this way too. I mix my shampoo into 1/2 cup (or so) of warm water in an empty shampoo bottle, then squirt the solution all over my scalp. I get better coverage that way.

About once every two weeks, I wash my entire length.

I apply shae butter conditioning creme to the bottom 1/3 of my hair only in the morning, then put my hair in a bun for the day & let it soak it all up until that night when I wash and condiiton as usual.

I do the same but in the winter I do not rinse the conditioner out completely from the ends.

How often does one do this?
