View Full Version : Teehee, I gave a hair-speech!

Someone asked me why I grow my hair long and I answered “Because it’s versatile, feminine, low maintenance and fun. And in an age where shoulder length is considered long, it’s more unique and personal than even the brightest artificial colour could ever be”
I felt it was a pretty good answer and it completely stopped all “you should cut and colour” comments, so I thought I would share
Felt pretty good actually :D

Good for you Igor! You gave a short explanation without being rude. That is the best kind of defense you can have. Your hair is very beautiful, I might add, your journal is part of the reason I joined LHC, it was quite inspirational.

Ooh, nice one! I'll have to memorize that so I can use it when my hair is longer and somebody hassles me, haha.

Very good answer, igor! Wonder if I'll be as snappy with a response when someone asks me!! Usually I just reply that I've wanted really long hair all my life, ever since I was a little girl, and now that I am an old lady I'll grow it out as long as I wish. (Nobody is around to force me to cut it!)

It's funny, but stuff like this almost makes me wish someone would give me static about my hair length so I could use a great comeback like that. :p

That is an absolutely brilliant reply-- concise, but descriptive! I bet it blew everyone away. Hard to argue with that!

Nice one, Igor! Way to go.
Your hair is beautiful, BTW -I absolutely agree that it makes more of a statement than an 'edgy' cut or color that anyone can walk into a salon and get.
