I have a claw (?) similar to this style but have no idea how to make it work. I've tried a french twist but it fall to the side and you see the back workings from the side. Somehow it just isn't as cute as I imagine it could be. Can someone help me out, here?

There is a space between the J and the P in JPG. Copy and past it to your web browser and remove the space then hit enter. :)

That is very pretty. I would love to know where you got it and how to use it.

That is very pretty, but I don't think that it would work in my hair, I think that it would fall out.
It might work in real thick hair in a french twist or bun of some kind.

:spitting: lol! Some help you guys are!!

Sorry about the bad link.....

Hopefully we'll get some good suggestions! I would love to be able to use it, instead of just admiring it in my drawer. It's not as easy as it looks!!

Missjessiecakes: I got it in Australia; there was a farmers market/swap meet and this booth had amazing hair toys I'd never seen in the US. This link was off ebay.

I think it may be more ornamental than functional. I might try clipping it into a bun or a Gibson Tuck that is already secured with hair pins. It just may not be made to hold hair really well.

Looks pretty, though. If you have any success using it, PLEASE, post photos.

You beat me to it!

I agree. If yours is as ornamented as the example then it is likely decorative rather than functional.

We don't always have to be able to hold all our hair up with just one hair toy. :D

Okay, gonna try this again. If these come up, this is my toy.

The piece is heavy, in addition to the prongs there is a comb coming off the hinge, the hinge is very well made ~ so it seems it would be able to hold a hair style well, which is why I bought it....

Okay, let's see if this works. If so, this is my toy.

Psst: if you upload your image to a host like Photobucket, then paste your IMG code here, it should work. ;)

I have a couple things similar to that -- it's actually hinged so the decorated part lifts up. I have used it on a cinnabun type thing -- work the fork part thru like a hairstick, then let the design part down to grab hold. I have a lot of hair, and it actually held by itself. I think if I started with a ponytail holder before doing the bun, it held even better.

Okay, this is definitely one of the ornamental, or decorative hairtoys; I can see that. You would add this to an already secured updo just because it's so purdy.

There may be someone out there who could hold an updo with it, but I can tell you from experience, that I wouldn't be able to, nor would a lot of other people.

I know I already said this, but when you put it in an updo, make sure that you take a photo of it in your hair. You know how much we love photos here. :D

That really is a lovely piece.

ETA: If I were you, I would remove the links from the posts at the top of your page. It looks as though they're directly from your computer and it may show information that you don't want shown, such as a name.

You're welcome - I'm glad it worked. :flower:

I second what Franny said about removing the previous links.

As for the fork, are you supposed to clench the hair between the longer fork tines and the smaller tines? I think it might work for a Lazy Wrap bun and styles like that.
