I feel like you're yelling at me

- Whenever my hair feels like it wants a washing. Every 3-4 days.

- No.

- No.

- I oil when my hair is just damp. Oiling dry hair just gives me frizzy, greasy looking hair.

- Moisture. When I used conventional shampoo and conditioner, I'd slather on the conditioner, leave it up while I did shower stuff, and then finally rinse it out. Leaving it on as long as possible. Clarifying helped. SMT's helped a bit. Damp oiling helped a bit. Damp bunning. Trial and error with products.

Do you use cones?
No

Do you oil before washing?
I will sometimes

Do you oil wet or dry hair when leaving it in?
I oil damp hair

What helps with your dry hair?
I use a modified version of Kimberlily's defrizz spray which consists of aloe, jojoba, water, glycerin and some of my natural conditioner. I find this sprayed on my hair with a drop of olive oil does wonders when my hair is dry :D

How often do you wash?
Every third day, so usually twice a week.

Do you use cones?
I do not use a shampoo containing cones, as I do not feel they clean my scalp properly.
I do use heavy conditioners containing my favorite cone (see siggy)

Do you oil before washing?
I try to coconut oil my hair the night before I wash it. If I am too busy, this does not happen, but it happens 8/10 times and I feel it makes a positive difference to my hair and scalp.

Do you oil wet or dry hair when leaving it in?
Dry, always. When I have oiled wet or damp hair, the oil has made my hair clump and some of the oil does not get to the hairs in the clump. Also this makes it tangle and harder to comb, whereas oiling on dry hair makes my hair separate better and all the hair gets a dose of oil.

What helps with your dry hair?
1. Extra-long rinsing after shampooing
2. Diligent use of the best conditioners for my hair
3. Sleeping on a silk pillowcase

1. I wash every day (co wash most days and shampoo 1-2x a week)
2. I don't use cones
3. I always oil (with castor and coconut) before I shampoo and sometimes use a little oil before I condition.
4. I used to oil wet or damp but now I do it when dry since I can see just how much is in my hair and avoid over oiling.
5. For my hair a deep conditioning treatment works well (as long as it is not a protein treatment) as well as almond and castor oil. Although I have coconut and jojoba as well they are not quite as good at locking in moisture and coconut smells funny. I also like damp bunning to tame the frizz that often comes with dry hair.

How often do you wash?

I don't use shampoo but I co-wash every day.

Do you use cones?

Sometimes.

Do you oil before washing?

No, maybe I should?

Do you oil wet or dry hair when leaving it in?

I don't use any oils right now, maybe I should incorporate them though.

What helps with your dry hair?

I use Neutrogena triple-moisture lotion for after stepping out of the shower. If I don't use it the hair is ridiculously dry. If I use too much the hair is ridiculously greasy... lol. Still trying to find that balance.
