Crazy itchy scalp, no dandruff

I have no idea what could be going on.
For the past week or so, my scalp is itching furiously. I've never had it itch this bad.
I've washed it several times this week thinking maybe it was just build up, but the itch is still there. I don't have any dandruff, I've been checked for lice. No one else in my house is experiencing this. Does anyone have any clues as to what this might be?

My first guess is dryness. Try some aloe on your scalp and give it a break from washing.

Oiling your scalp with coconut oil may help.

Another thing worth trying is a dilute vinegar rinse. Seems to keep a lot of picky scalps very happy.

Might not be dry scalp. Could be something you're using that your scalp has decided not to like. I second the vinegar rinse.

Maybe your scalp doesn't agree with what your washing it with. Perhaps try changing your shampoo and seeing if that helps? CO is pretty moisturizing too :agree: Maybe it will help?

Check for lice again, and then again. Sometimes (if there are only a few) they can be extremely difficult to find. Unfortunately, they can multiply very quickly. I say this from personal experience. :o :blossom:

I CO sometimes and CWC others, so I would think my scalp would be pretty moisturized. I had a thought today that the only recent change i've made is (sorry if this is TMI) going off birth control about a week ago. Could that be it?
