Just saw a TV commercial (Subaru) new bride with her hair in Heidi/Milkmaid braids,
it shows in a segment where her husband is carrying her, I noticed the part in the back of her head.

Why can I not find instructions on how to do "Heidi braids"? I found where they're listed in the hairstyle list in VIT link, but it's just listed, not a link to a how-to....

It's basically two braids either side of the head, brought up to the front and pinned. With your length I bet you could manage the longer version, a fake crowd braid. Think this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqbAdvL8kME) but you could pin it instead of using ribbon.
