2 years with no trims! (pics)

I made it! It´s been exactly two years since my last hair cut. Not even the slightest trim. To be honest my hair desperately needs a trim, but I promised myself to wait until January 2011! I´m very happy with the results and I really want to share it with you guys.

My hair was pretty much the same length starting out as yours, and i too am strictly NOT trimming, im at 14month now, i hope my hair can make it to a similar lenght as yours by the time i hit 24 months - but i doubt it will. Currently hovering just above BSL

Congratulations! Your hair is absolutely gorgeous! It's been over 2 years since my last haircut too, except I trim my bangs, but the rest of my hair has been left alone since May '08. The ends are kind of fried but oh well. I've decided not to trim my hair, save for the bangs, until it gets to classic. The journey is certainly at least as fun as reaching the ultimate goal. Congrats! I echo everyone else's comments--your hair looks healthy and vibrant. Ahhh, I have to follow your journey as well. I recently cut 12 1/2 inches and donated it.. so I'll need another two years to get back to where I just was. I'm APL now. I'm on a no cutting/no trimming vow! I just hope I don't go temporarily insane like I already did. Keep growing it!

Awesome progress! I love your hair!! It looks so much like mine, we are practically hair twins!
I've also grown two years now, from neck length, but with two trims, though the last one was probably more than 10 months ago. My hair is not almost the same length as yours, too, just a bit shorter. AND I'm growing out my bangs, which are shorter than yours..

Fantastic growth ans what an inspriation!! That really gives me encouragement an I am 4 months in on a year of no cutting. I did a full year already but then over a few trims cut off HALF of the growth!! But that's ok my ends are so thick (and in way better condition) I should be able to go more then a year this time and I'm already almost at APL :)

Thank you all so much for your kind words. It really hasn´t been hard keeping away from the scissors. When I have determined something I stick to it.
But in Januray I will get a well needed trim, but I have to admit that I am terrified that they are gonna cut too much.
After that trim I´m gonna trim once a year until I reach my goal classic!

You hair grows so fast! You have beautiful thick hair. I broke down and got a trim and wound up almost in an argument with the hairstylist (first and last time with her). She wanted to trim all the "see through" part of the ends---that would have been more than 2" !! My hair is long enough that when it is wet I couldn't tell just exactly how much hair she was trimming until I saw it on the floor! Luckily she listened and trimmed a half an inch but I did have a moment of terror until I saw the trimmed ends myself on the floor.

Oh my! You have an amazing head of hair. Not just the length, but the shine, the apparent strength, etc. This may seems like an odd question, but do you eat a lot of protein or take vitamin supplements? I'm sure you are genetically lucky to begin with, but even good genes don't make up for crappy habits. Whatever you have been doing for the last two years, keep it up! A lot of you have asked how I can go so long without being tempted to trim.
It really isnt´t that hard. I am a very determined person and when I put up a goal I stick to it.
Some of you don´t think I need a trim but I really do. There is so many split ends and white dots right now, and the ends are very dry. So I´m really looking forward to even up the ends, and I think I will go for a U-hemline instead of blunt as I used to have.
Looking forward to the trim but I am scard as well that the hair stylist will cut off to much...

well it doesn't look damaged from here :) looks really thick and healthy. Be firm with your hairdresser make sure they know exactly how much you want off and let them know you still want to grow it longer. Really stress the point and then they can't have any excuse for taking off more than you wanted

Beautiful, thick and healthy hair. Good luck with the trim. You've had so much growth that you can indulge in evening things up, but based on your pictures a micro-trim will suffice, also considering that you will be shortening the sides further when shaping your hemline into a U. Could you self-trim using Feye's method, perhaps?

U hemlines tend to be very flattering on thicker hair, especially when taper isn't an issue (and you have no taper whatsoever).

Well done on being committed to your goal. It's paid off. :thumbsup:
