Why hello there! Let me start by saying how much I love this forum- it has been a great help to me, and I wouldn't trade it for the world. :D I hope one day I'll be able to contribute. This is such an informative place!
If it's not too much to ask, I could use some help... I'm getting hitched in a month or so, and I'm at a loss for what to do with my hair.
State of the Mane address: it's in bad shape. :( The type is 2a I think? Currently somewhere around 6" past the top of my shoulders but in bad need of a trim. Frizzy from the ears down. It gets greasy at the back of the crown about six hours after washing, but the lower half looks parched until halfway through day 2 post-wash (coconut oil is helping some with this, but MAN the grease is bad up top!). I keep it in a bun mostly- for the last two years I've put it in a ponytail, twisted the tail bit, and wrapped that around the base to secure with pins. Slowly branching out to better buns. Here is my only photo that even remotely shows the hair condition (sorry, it's a grad pic and not of the back!):

It's a bit shorter now, and the lighter/color damaged/layered ends have been chopped off.
So. Now that that's out of the way... for my wedding I may or may not be able to get someone to do my hair. The only style I know how to do is the bun I wear every day, and I feel like I should be changing it up a bit! Wearing a blusher veil and the dress has a nifty keyhole back thing going on, so I'm hoping to manage an updo, but something with a little more volume than I normally have. But how? :( And what? I'm so lost!
Please LHC, you are my only hope. Anything you can suggest would be so very appreciated!
