I was trying for an elven style, but I think the end result ended up more Grecian. Or Star Wars:luke:

Its a 2 strand crown braid, and 3 English braids in buns.

I totally rocked the three bunned english braids in my public album. No roped crown though. I think your style looks awesome! :D

Thanks, Loreley:blossom:

ArienEllariel , its never on purpose, but I think being that much of a star wars junky sneaks in when I'm trying to come up with new styles. Lol

Gumball, had to take a peek at your album. Your style is gorgeous. You definitely have a lot more length that me. Give me something to look forward to.:thudpile:

Wish I had pics of my three english braid buns from whan I was at tailbone length. Bah!
I'm nowhere near coordinated enough for crown braids! Very impressed.

Ok, here are the instructions:

1. Section off the front 1-2 inches of your hair between your two ears.
http://i561.photobucket.com/albums/ss52/casiafurrer/lhc/201009032103573.jpg

2. Starting at whatever side is comfortable (I'm a lefty, so for me its the right) grab 2 separate strands of hair. Twist around one another, adding more hair with each twist, until you reach the opposite ear. Bobby pin in place, and whatever leftover end you have can hang loose.

3. Section off hair into 3: Top of head, bottom right, and bottom left.

4. Braid each section. I opted for a simple English braid, but I'd love to see it with a herringbone.

5. Wrap each into a bun and pin.

can you post a pic that is more from the front? I'm having trouble visualizing the crown braid part and how it works into the buns. How far back from your forehead is the crown braid...how did you incorporate the tail into the buns?

Sorry, I'm just not getting it :-(

I'll have to do it again so I can take another picture. I'll get on that soon:) But from the front, you can't see the buns at all, or how the connect, just the crown braid. It sits about an inch and a half back.

how did you incorporate the tail into the buns?

THe crown braid runs from one ear to the other. That means on the side that you start the crown braid, it won't connect to the bun at all. On the side that you end, the crown braid basically has a "tail" of the hair that is leftover. This gets added to the braid right next to it. (Which would either be lower left or lower right depending on which side you started and ended on). It doesn't really look connected though, the tail just blends in with all the other hair. It basically looks like having a headband made of a braid, and then 3 buns.
