Alright so, I got blonde highlights a few months ago so I could start to get rid of the black hair dye I had used for years. It was then coloured over that a little more than a month ago with a brown with a slight red tint to it. Of course the highlights were lighter it has since faded to a weird brassy colour and I HATE!!!!!! it. This was all professionally done :( I cannot stand it, it does nothing for my complexion and just looks dull and horrible. I want to colour it to something like she has...

Would that be a neutral medium brown? I suck at colour descriptions :p

This is what my hair looks like now, ugh. I'm confused as to what to do. I just want to colour it to a shade I'm satisfied with and continue on growing.

What would I have to do to counteract the brassy, reddish tones?
Any help is appreciated!

I would give your stylist the opportunity to fix it. Most people who work with people want their clients to be happy. You could also run the risk of making it worse if you try something on your own or go to someone else. She knows what products she used.

Throw down something with a green base to counteract red.

Definitely don't add more red. The hair color in the link was a natural ashy shade of brown. You could ask for a medium ash brown. Anything lighter probably wouldn't cover up the reddish (or brassy) tones.. Ashy tones have "green" in them so they counteract the reddish tones.

I believe you may need a filler on the highlights before recoloring them.
