Apologies if this has been posted before. It's from 2007, but I just came across it today.

News to me too....

Maybe they mean curly hair that has tons of gel in it so it doesn't move at all.

Well, I can't read the article, but my hair always tangles much less when I wear it straight as opposed to curly. I just spent about 5 minutes getting one snarl out (my hair's curly today).

My hair tangles a whole lot less if after it is dry, I don't touch it, comb it or brush it. If it just sits there in ringlets how is is supposed to tangle?

Now, if I go out in the wind - that's an entirely different subject.

Yea The link doesn't work for me either.
Maybe it just depends on the person? Perhaps some people with curly hair and a certain hair type (fine, medium, coarse) tangle less. My grams has curly hair...(she blow drys it upside down for volume, re-curls it with big rollers, then brushes it out..). In the end it is kind of curly..not as much as before..but i don't think I've ever seen her with tangles. The style doesn't hold for long..I told her i wanna do her hair sometime. Ha..this would be a good reason to convince her why she should let me! :p
Mine isn't curly..but with me I think tangles depend on care and what I use on it.

I have wavy hair that doesn't tangle, but it is also fine and slippery hair.

I can't read the article, but I've heard this before.

I think the reason given was because straighter hairs cross each other at more acute angles than curlier hairs, causing tighter tangles.

Ironically the link doesn't work, but if you enter 'curly hair' into the search box for the site, you'll get it on the top of the list of articles. Then when you go to the article, it has that link. Weird!!
