potauvert congratulations! Your hair is so shiny and looks amazing (and wonderfully healthy) at this length!

:scissors: snip snip :scissors: I had a trim and now back to just under 33", my hair already feels so much nicer (0 splits) and lighter! I got the tiniest bit of layering and my fringe trimmed up - I think I'll maintain around this length for a while, I am in no rush to be inconvenienced by my hair over the summer and this is my comfortable limit for now.

Hilarious that I was so scared of taking weight out of my hair with layers because of having a thin hemline, but turns out it's thicker now with layers than before with a blunt cut - as I've been treating growth as a sprint these past few years so probably not trimming enough to maintain the thickness.

You also visually can't tell a difference between before and after without a measuring tape it just looks neater- so basically I cut off the last 4? 5? months of progress thereabouts and I feel better about my hair than I have in years! :happydance:

Hello everyone!!!

I finally reached Hip length, woohoo! This was my first hair length goal so it feels really good. My hair is 33" long, and has never been longer than waist length before. Here is a comparison photo showing the last 6 months of growth. I'm not a fan of the splits, but I feel like it comes with the territory of growing classic length hair. I am S&Ding a few times a month. Thank you to all of you for educating and encouraging me!!!! I hope to reach tailbone length in the next 8 months :)

Kelp, yes, you belong in this thread! Your longest parts are almost hip, or am I missing what counts as hip lenght? Really like your hair, looks beautiful. Do you have those waves when your hair is dry too?

I'm getting nearer to TBL now! Solid BCL and moving past, woohoo! Ends are not too bad yet either, but I am certainly seeing the unevenness starting to appear. I cut bluntly in beginning of June (hair was a bit above hip then), which is a while ago. Haven't trimmed since.

Thank you, SeppV!

My hair will lose a bit of the definition just as it gets tossed around a little, but it really seems to go from 2b to 2a throughout the drying process.

Wavy hair is actually a relatively new concept for me! I always thought I was 1c until I began caring for my hair in a way that benefitted it more. But even now, I don’t use any CGM type styling products and I tend to keep my hair braided or bunned which alters the shape, so even now I don’t really know the full extent of my waves. It might be fun to do an experiment here eventually :)

The waves will stay as long as I stay put, but throughout the day my hair just tends to fluff up and the waves become less defined and my hemline is a fuller U shape rather than the fairytail V it looks like in that picture. I also don't pay much attention to defining my waves besides plopping, and I also constantly bun, braid, and brush throughout the week which alters the shape but gives volume!

My next step is learning how to care for my waves in a way that works with my low-product and low-maintenance routine because I love how much personalized hair care has brought them out!

Oh wow! Good to know, and thank you :)

I only started getting into CGM theories and techniques last year so I'm still learning a lot when it comes to my own hair. The waves really soften throughout the day and I'm never sure when the "right" time to call my hair type is, so I think I'm playing it safe with calling 2a. If I defined and held with product, however, I can totally see 2b/c. Perhaps it's time for experimentation!

Yes, I think it's a long journey. I'm quite inpatient at this stage! Midback to waist was also a long journey. Tailbone to classic is going to be 2 years for me, but I think my hair will feel to start really long by then :-)

I always thought I was a 1a, but once I started giving my hair all the moisture it wanted it got a bit of a body wave. I do see my hair go from wavy to Straight over the course of drying. I have waves and some spirals wet, but by the time it dries (whether I'm upright or that's after sleeping on it) it's pretty much completely straight. I think texture can definitely change over the course of a day/drying time, so I would vote to call your hair with what texture you normally have to work with.

The waist to hip thread looks basically unused, so even though I'm just going for hip right now(One crisis at a time, my lady, except not a crisis) I'll stick to this one. I reached waist less than a month ago, which was so exciting because it feels like the first milestone of actually long hair(to me). The waist to hip thread looks basically unused, so even though I'm just going for hip right now(One crisis at a time, my lady, except not a crisis) I'll stick to this one. I reached waist less than a month ago, which was so exciting because it feels like the first milestone of actually long hair(to me).

I feel the same way. When I reached WL, I felt like I "officially" have long hair.

I linger and post here but I have been maintaining at WL since August & plan to slowly grow to HL this year. Undecided about beyond that, as WL is really long for my circles IRL.. I’ve thought about waking up the waist to hip thread, but I may as well just type to myself in my blog instead :rolling:

This post makes me a bit sad, I feel it implies that you are letting friends decide how long you'll grow your hair.
I hope that isn't the case, grow your hair to your feet if you want. if any 'friend' uses the length of your hair as a friendship requirement then is it really worth keeping the friendship?

Oh, no one is dictating anything about my hair, if someone ever would suggest anything I would put them in place. :bigtongue: It is more about me feeling like it finally passes as long, as it is the longest of anyone I see on a regular basis. My family, friends, coworkers all only say nice things if they happen to notice my hair. If I happen to come across another longhair in person, we may eventually talk updo’s or something. And the young children tend to stare when I let it loose to redo a bun. I know it’s not that long for LHC yet, but it’s long for the circles I am in (and -more importantly- long for me).

Thank you both so much! If I take every single month per year into account including the growth spurts and slow months, I'd say I average out at around .75-1 inch per month.

I always try to maximize my growth everyday with whatever I can. I take daily multi-vitamins. I believe in daily scalp massages even if you just do it for 2 minutes. Try to always stimulate your blood flow. :)
Note that I'm also a big daily washer so I'm always massaging my scalp in the shower when I shampoo.

Oh no!!!! I hate it when stylists take things into their own hands. Condolences for your lost length.

I'm lucky to have found one who trims conservatively and exactly how much I ask for. But have definitely had my share of "well I know you said 1" but I took off all the dead ends which went up 3" :)" from hairdressers.

I cam to look around this thread, because my hair is now waist when I pull on the strands, but I still have about an inch to grow until it looks like waist.. which is what counts IMHO.

Anyway, I have always thought I'd want straight across or slight U-shape hemline, but the gorgeous fellow wavy heads here have changed my mind! First I saw the soft V-shape of Estrid, and the Kelp and Ada-banana.. and you guys have me sold on V-shape hem for waist+ hair! So I think that is what I want, and it will actually help me get to where I want my hair to be faster, since hair naturally tends to grow toward a V, doesn't it? I also have some shorter pieces at the sides, because I used to have bangs.
I also have been wearing a small side braid on one or both sides, and the small silicone band caused breakage and splits.. I just did a s&d on the split ends and I won't be using those anymore, at least not on a regular basis. Maybe when my hair is long enough, I will just braid and not secure the ends at all.

It is always possible to later start trimming of the tip of the V for a more U-shape or straight hem, so at least it's a good goal to go for first.
I think I'm going to look for an image of Classic length hair with a V hem too, to see how it looks at that length.

Hi everyone!

I came to check on this page after a while and it looks like in the time I wasnt here, my hair grew a few cm and I am now in this growth stage! I just measured my hair (from my hairline through my head down to my back) and I reached my small goal of 80cm (31,5inches)! :) Happy to be here while it lasts, as my hair will be needing a trim soon. Hopefully it wont set me back too much. :)

Oh my gosh, I never would have thought of my hair as inspiration :crush:
I hope the hemline you choose is everything you want it to be! I hadn't given much thought to it before I joined LHC, if anything I thought it wasn't the "proper" shape, but now I wear it proudly and agree it looks so pretty with wavy hair!

Though I originally came here to say... I think I may be at hip now! I was curious as I realized it's been a while since I've really paid attention to the upcoming milestone, and when I pulled my longest strands straight and pointed at my hip bone, my mother said it was right there! I'm not calling it until my hair is washed and dried (I have a mask in) and I get good progress photos, so maybe tomorrow...

H, I guess this may be a better thread than the waist to hip! Since I plan to grow longer than hip and hip is only like 3 inches away! Or maybe I'll hang out in both threads.
Anyway, here is my length from yesterday. Of course my loose dress doesn't really show my waistline but I think you can still see that my hair tips are at waist. The ends have a lot of taper which I think is from a big shed in 2020 after an illness. But it doesn't bother me and I won't trim yet. The thinner ends make for easier bunning and look fairy taleish.

Since childhood I have never had my hair this long and never long and natural color, and for a while there I wasn't paying much attention to my hair, so now that I'm actually looking at it, it feels kind of new, in a way. Like I didn't take any photos just to look at my hair or anything like that.
I just splurged majorly on hair toys, which I thought this milestone deserves! I bought Ficcares and a couple of super nice and expensive acetate claw clips! I needed one to wear in the bath, and just kind of went down that rabbit hole, eh :p I do think that whereas Ficcares tend to be more grown-up and classy, claw clips are cute and playful, but some of them can look very classy in a youthful way too. I know some people think that claw clips look frumpy, but it all depends on the clip and the rest of your outfit!

Yeah, the back is in shade.. My hair can look so much darker in shade! The front is in (artificial) light.
I just took a picture of my hair with the sun shining on it and it looks almost red! And I'm not a redhead.

I wish I had something to report in this thread, but my hair just hangs at waist, going nowhere (checking everyday). I also keep counting everyday when might next milestones come around (hip, TB, classic) and I pray to Longhaired Gods that my terminal is longer than this or any of desired milestones.

I'm about the same length and shape as you. I love claw clips too, but styling my hair up is making my nape hair tangle up very badly.

Hey Everyone,

The last time I posted on this thread was in 2020, when I had hip-length hair.

I did manage to grow my hair past tailbone length, which was amazing and hard at the same time (I managed to get to mid-butt length). However, due to what happened in the last couple of years, I wasn't able to get any trims, and my ends got pretty thin. as of today, I am starting my waist to tailbone length again and hoping to keep its thickness throughout the journey.

Currently, my hair is sitting just on my waistline (mainly because I'm short, lol) after cutting 11 inches of hair. I cant wait to make this journey with all of you.

Well, I imagine you have super hemline now and a good basis for fast growth without many trims! I had a huge shed in 2020 after a "mystery illness" and my hair got so much thinner that I kept cutting it for a while. I think my much thinner ends are still due to that. But I always kind of wanted to see what fairy tale ends wood look like on me and never had them due to my thick hair, but now I can get them if I don't trim! So there's a silver lining there. My hair is not quite as thick as it used to be (see my braid siggie photo) but that is actually better for making buns. I can now manage a Nautilus of sorts at 33" hair. And the thinner ends are easier to wrap into the bun.

I've booked in for a trim on Thursday, I yet again cannot get meaningfully past TBL due to the inconvenience/enjoying my hair down. It's annoying me all the time so snip snip! Good luck with your trim illicitlizard! I made a late night post in the year long no trimming challenge thread about how I have been feeling like a trim and how I decided not to trim and how I also feel like I never want to trim again and how I would do it myself when the time came. I’m all over the place! The urge to trim is still there and honestly I may just book an appointment  I know a wonderful hairdresser.

My hair is actually a little past waist. I seem to call milestones when my hair has grown beyond that particular milestone, lol. So if I do get a trim it won’t set me back and I can remain in this thread.

Let us know how your trim goes!

Oh NO I feel a like a bad influence coming in here whispering things about :scissors: Stay strong! Glad to hear you cancelled, I sort of look impulsive based on 1 post, but I've been feeling like a trim for a couple of months at this point just didn't want to organise an appointment. Point being, all over the place isn't the mindset you want going into a trim!! Also your hair is so gorgeous it really doesn't look like it needs a trim at all :o (I also do the same thing with calling milestones once my hair is definitively past the milestone btw)

I have my pre-trim length shot, am hovering at 35", will see how much ends up taken off. I'm excited!

I don't go to salons but on the other hand I trim and cut my long-haired nieces hair (as well as my DD's short hair) and I guess they like the fact that I don't ever cut more than they want. Sometimes I think I should open a tiny salon that only cuts long hair, nothing else

Thank you as well, Joyful Mystery! :heartbeat

My hair is now something like 33,5", I can't really get an exact measurement now, as I'm still holding on the tips of my hair when I grab the measuring thingy. So it could actually be 34" to the tippy tips. Ah well, it's growing, that's the main thing!

Thank you! :o I don't know. I'm going to have to find another way to get my hair up if I try for classic, that extra 1.5" already put some serious extra strain on my head and my life - I think I'd need a flexi-8 type thing and to find a way to have it up more often, I like wearing it down but can't at work. Braids don't work for me either, the shred causes extreme tangling. Not sure I have the patience and I almost feel like visually it's "long enough" now. But in the back of my mind, I do still want to see what classic looks like. So maybe. We'll see where my benign neglect mindset takes me!

I looked today and it seems that I am creeping upon hip... maybe 3 cm to go and I will be able to officially call it at the end of the "first half of 2023 no trimming challenge" in July. I will continue with no trimming as my ends don´t seem to have splits (or I can´t see them with my eyes, quite possible). Not to get my hopes high, I assume I might be at BCL some time at the beginning of the next year and tailbone around June 2024. I might stick to no trimming till then.

I haven’t been posting in this thread for a bit because I have been maintaining at WL since I called it in August. However, I finally figured out how to take a photo showing my natural color better, I need to take it in the morning when bright diffused light is squeaking into my basement apartment:laugh:

I still think tailbone length will be too long for me, as I wear my hair loose once or twice a week, and I wear a fannypack on my hips daily so I imagine it would get caught and cause extra damage beyond HL. For now, babysteps: reach my elbows so it is perceived as WL by others. About 1” to go, but will take a bit since I will trim off some of the progress in June. I plan to trim 1” or less for summer solstice.

ArtOfNoot
April 16th, 2023, 10:43 AM
Some math:
If 37' is right at TBL, and I'm at 29" which is just barely WL, that's an 8" difference. I grow at a max of 3/4" per month and average just below that, so I can reasonably expect to hit TBL in a year.
I know I said I would be parking in benign neglect club for the time being, but I think we all knew I was lying to myself

I think I actually hit hip recently, but I was just feeling ready to call it, and then I got the trim I've been meaning to get for half a year, so now I'm back maybe an inch and a half above hip. I'm kinda sad about that, even though I knew it would happen But I'm still a little below waist, which was important to me, so I'm just going to be happy to have a lot less splits, and still a decent amount of length

Somehow this rings true :rollin:

I ordered my normal s&c and somehow just ordered an argan oil with them.. To use as a pre-poo I guess.. Will be fun to try it before next wash.

So I may be doing slightly more than during the past few years, and I too measured again even though I said I wasn't going to measure. But, I will do it like once a month at most, not all the time..

Totally agree with both/all of you on this. I've considered only going to stylists whose own hair is WL+. Now I haven't been to a stylist in a looong time because among other things I got tired of them sending me to the girl with the butch cut. I think we longhairs need people who sympathize.

Easy enough to google "salon near me" and check their staff pix (if any) for longhairs. Or at least their portfolio pix.

I just can't trim well enough on my own (I trim maybe twice a year). I have a pretty severe V from doing that, so that's what I'd go to a stylist for.

According to the hair growth data excel sheet, it's predicted that I reach hip by July or August (I'm unsure whether it's 82cm or 84cm on me) and TBL by January next year. Honestly I'm unsure if I'll grow that long, will probably maintain at hip because it's getting troublesome enough to heat style, put out of the way etc. because I have so much hair and I like to wear it out and down. Actually reaching my goal for the summer and then maintaining sounds perfect.

I don't think I'll ever leave this thread. My DJS really did a number on my hair, a ton of it fell out since then and it's still growing back, but all the damage seems to finally be cut off now.

I had reached tailbone, even passed it, close to classic...but then I noticed my ends were damaged, filled with splits, white dots, and all kinds of weird damage. I put it up constantly, braid it and sleep on a silk pillowcase, I finger comb it and only blow dry it with my Dyson on the "cool" setting when I am freezing. Maybe that did damage to it, as my hair is wavy/wurly and that straightens it, I don't really know. Either way, I am glad to be back to hip, because it was really hard to deal with the longer it got, I guess I'll keep growing it, because I am lazy..haha.

Hello, I just hit hip-length, so I'll continue until the hair reaches TBL because I don't want to maintain at hip length yet...lol
I'm still considering doing just that. Let's keep growing it in the meantime, I guess.

Hello, I just hit hip-length, so I'll continue until the hair reaches TBL because I don't want to maintain at hip length yet...lol
I'm still considering doing just that. Let's keep growing it in the meantime, I guess.
I think I have an aversion to scissors, I'll only trim my hair if I have to.
A bit of an awkward situation! I just realized my hair is TBL not hip length.
I stretched it a bit with magnetic rollers today and that's how I realized it was longer than I thought.
I already shared a pic in another thread so to avoid spamming I won't share it again here.
In light of this maybe I really should start maintaining it at tbl and trimming it. And I'll try to figure out what thread I should go to

I tend to avoid scissors too. I guess it depends what your goals are, whether you trim now or not. Even though you technically have the length, and are planning to maintain at tbl, if you don't feel like cutting you can always just wait till you get to tbl in your normal styling

This is a wonderful idea. And there's no rush I guess, because I'm content with the length/thickness. So anything beyond this is literal princess hair or something (for me).

Hi, I'm new! Only discovered that my hair had reached waist length yesterday, after a three year long LHC hiatus. Last time I logged in, I was just past APL  If my measurements are right, I have about 20 cm / 8 inches to tbl, so I'm guessing I have about 1.5 years to go. My hair is fine and wavy, and dry. I'm always on the lookout for a good hair mask or oil! Looking forward to getting to know all of you, let's do this :cheer:

Welcome back!! Your hair is lovely :)

Thank you, that means a lot to me! I got "yelled at" by a hairdresser when I got my last trim in last fall about how my hair was too dry and that she didn't think I took good enough care of it to grow it long. I still have flashbacks...

Hi y'all. Guess I've graduated to here and to the Waist To Hip thread. (Nobody seems sure why we need two of them.)

I dunno if I want to go to tailbone, but def to hip and maybe bcl. For me, anything more seems like a good chance to reshape my hemline without losing any real length. But I originally thought I wanted wl, and now I'm talking bcl, so who knows....?

Maybe the clothes are the canvas and your hair is the paint....?

It's a somewhat new idea for me as well, though I always noticed how well pink worked for the dark auburn girl back when. And in the late 80s I saw a guy color coordinate himself with his car. Dark-skinned black guy wearing yellow getting into his convertible which was almost exactly the same yellow with a black interior. Not coincidence - he knew what he was doing, and it worked. Was a hell of an effect! So we can color coordinate in ways we often don't think of.

???

I only see 1 redundancy in the mid-body area: W to H, and W to TBL. They should keep W to H because W to TBL bypasses two markers: hip and BCL.

Then if they added a H to BCL/TBL, that part of the body would be fairly complete. But moving threads around might be a lot of work with some risk of losing them entirely. So I don't know if it's worthwhile. They haven't done it in 10+ years, so maybe not. But it's kinda fun graduating from thread to thread.

Technically having two named "....and beyond" is a silly redundancy, and the lower body is missing several markers too. And there's no Terminal thread. Oh well.

I for one would vote for merging all threads from waist to tailbone. My reasoning is, most people on the forum seem to be in this general area between waist and tailbone (also according to the last 2022 poll). The topic of talk, the goals, the methods, the haircare is pretty much alike for all these milestones, so it would be nice if this large group had one thread to come to. Now they are divided in 3+ threads, hopping from one to another - very often also from "longer" to "shorter" thread (cutting from tbl back to waist seems to be popular from what I´ve read). I am at waist, close to hip, looking forward to BCL, aiming for TBL, and frankly, I can´t find a thread "to belong". That is just my opinion and my two cents. I completely understand when most of you are stoked about any of the milestones between waist and tailbone and it is important for you to be in the thread exact to that milestone.

Here's what the Important Threads & Resources pinned post says we have:

All Lengths Post Here
Buzz to Chin Length
Chin to Shoulder Length
Shoulder to APL Length
APL to MBL Length
MBL to Waist Length
Waist to Hip Length redundant to below
Hip to Tailbone Length
Waist to Tailbone Length redundant to above
Tailbone to Classic Length
Classic to Knee Length
Knee Length and Beyond! rename "Knee To Calf"
Floor Length and Beyond! rename "Floor To Wherever" (then add new thread "Terminal")
Non-Growth Oriented Thread for Shorter Lengths

Meanwhile the chart below which y'all helped me make back in Sep or so has 18 markers counting Terminal. I searched and found 4 other charts, and their markers vary 13-14. There are only 12 specific length threads in the above thread list and that's counting the redundant Waist To's. Yeah, 18 is a lot of threads, but ideally it would work best because we do like exact length threads, we love graduating to new ones, and this is a hair growth site.

Found a list of buns you "should" be able to do at waist/hip, but my hair is spitting out the chopstick I use for practice left and right.. What I've been trying is to use small claw clips instead, and finally my hair will hold for hours in a disc bun. Feels like sorcery :magic:

However, I would like some variation to disc bun, space disc buns and my usual braids. Are there any other buns you've found works for thick, fine, a little slippery(maybe?) hip length hair? Nautilus and lazy wrap bun are fails for me so far, but maybe I just need to practice more?

Buns work pretty well for me, so I'm not sure I can help, giraff, but I will say 2 sticks can be a lot firmer than 1, with some buns. Nautilus took a bunch of tries for me, but did eventually click. And have you tried a cinnabun?

giraff, I´m learning new buns from the thesaurus currently, some work, some don´t (slippery and "spitting things out" hair too) , but if you are partial to braids, I would suggest the center-held braided bun. IMHO it is foolproof and very nice.

Hey there! It looks like your hair may be a tad thicker than mine (mine is around 3.75") but our bun-ability should be fairly similar. When I was at hip I could start to make a lazy wrap bun but it was still pretty tight. Unfortunately, the disc bun was the only bun that held well until I reached TBL. As others have suggested, braided buns may work better for you. They hold waaaay better - even though a LWB was hard for me at hip, a braided LWB held just fine (although the ends sometimes poked out). Hope this helps!

My pony is 4" and my hair is mostly straight and pretty slippy. I've never been able to get a nautilus to hold. Gibralter bun and cinnabun are my go-to style and still work for me with a stick as long as I get the tension right, but I prefer double claw clips at this point. I don't like forks as much but I find that they hold better than sticks--or two sticks.

I concur that braided buns hold a lot better. If you have issues with the ends, I used to put a scrunchie around the base of my bun after it was done to hide all the bits that wanted to stick out. I like to braid part or all of my hair before bunning--it helps get things more compressed and gives my hair some texture to hold on to rather than just sliding out.

Your hair is thicker than mine, but I am familiar with the spitting of sticks! Here are a few things I found when I was first at waist-to-hip:

- two-prong forks are much more stable for me than sticks. Even now, the only time I really use a stick is if I’m wearing it in a cinnamon bun constructed from my hair braided with a silk scarf - very protective and holds beautifully with a thin stick. The most grippy of my two-prong sticks are acrylics; my favorites are quattros because they’re so minimal but on maximum falling-out days I can’t keep them in.
- two claw clips, one on each side, will hold a lwb like a champ! Same with a cinnamon bun.
- slightly-damp bunning can really help with hold.
- with your thickness, I bet spin pins would work well. Those little creatures are so stable! (My hair compacts down a lot with the fineness and sometimes they show more than I like in my hair)

Hope this is helpful!

I'm getting so frustrated with my length. I was almost at hip, and they had cut almost 4 inches off. I'm getting married soon, so I have been getting more regular trims. It just feels that I am not growing at all.
I know it just feels that way because I am paying attention now and getting trims, but UGH

Oh that's awful!!! 4 inches is so much to lose. Maybe trimming it yourself is an option?

Congrats in advance on your upcoming wedding! As for the perceived growth speed, I feel you.. I feel like my hair has been the same length for years at this point. But it really hasn't. For me, looking at progress photos help. In the long term, I also think you'll be happy that your hair is healthier! You would have maybe reached the milestone faster, but the damage wouldn't magically disappear. We're all in this together :cheer:

Do you guys have an estimated time of arrival for reaching tailbone length? Or your goal length, if you don't plan to grow that long?

I just calculated mine, and I'll be there in March 2024 if my speed of growth is the same as it used to be and I don't get trims. I have about 10 cm to go. It's been some years since I measured my hair on a regular basis, so it might have changed. I'll likely have a trim after summer, but I kind of want to see if I can make do with just S&D also. Time will show!

Good for you, giraff, you are quite close to your goals then. Happy for you. :cheer:
Yes, I have done the calculations and measurements for when I reach this and that milestone. I think I´m at hip already, but I personally dislike this milestone measurement because I´m not quite sure what qualifies as hip on myself. I might reach BCL by the end of the year (it´s there when wet, haha) and tailbone some time in the first half of next year. If my hair keeps growing, that is. I never had longer than waist/hip before, but that was something like false terminal in the past due to breakage.

Yes, Nefcerka, hip is a weird one.. If you're that close to BCL, I'd guess you're at hip! If you throw up a picture, I'm sure someone can help you decide.

And yeah, you never know how long it will grow! My hair has never been as long as it is now, so I have no idea of how close to terminal I am..

That is a fair point! The damage did need to go, but man is it hard.

I think after my next trim I could possibly reach it by April if it does the 0.75-1 inch growth a month. I started measuring again because I have a sneaking suspicion it isn't growing as fast. I love that you do hair math too. I'm about 16 inches from my goal and keep trying to estimate. I like S&D a lot. I look crazy doing it, but in the summer I carry little manicure/hair scissors with me and will just do it while being outside (I work at a summer camp during the summer so we have lots of outside time, and being outside is when I've found most of my split ends).

Hi guys, I'm an ex-LHCer returning to the fold. Just hit waist so this seems like the thread for me. Here's a pic
