Heres a challenge for you:

You can only use 3 pins/hairpins/bobbypins to do an updo, ideally it would be indestructable. You can use hairbands etc as long as they are not seen by the eye.

Id love to see the results!

Any length requirements on these pins? Because 3 3" Amish pins will hold about any bun I can manage...

But then, I'm a single-stick girl. If I need more than one hairstick to secure my hair, it's not happening.

Yes, can we choose our pins? You did list a few options; I know holding mine up with three bobby pins would be a miracle, but I might be able to come up with something using Amish pins or my Good hair days pins. If I get some time, I may give it a go!

I bet I could get DF's 4b midback locs up with 3 pins. 3 spin pins.

I don't know if I have any pictures, but a crown braid is secure on me with a single tie at the end, tucked under and 2 pins to make sure the tail stays tucked.

1 medium ficcare holds my hair up all day easily.

This is my 2 pin cinnabun. I can do it with one but it may not stay up the entire day. I can even sleep with 2 pins and it doesn't come out.

I could probably hold a cinnamon bun with two bent knitting needles, but that's it.

Any pin size counts (including bent needles), but no ficcares etc.

In2washin - that is amazing! I dont know how you do it.

I can put up a folded french/dutch braid with two hair pins and it's very stable. I can also do french twists with two extra large bobby pins.
Here's a picture of my diagonal tucked french braid as a bonus:

Rosebun with 3 amish pins (one sticking out as you see) and one elastic to tie off the ropebraid.
