I lust after one of these heavy hair pins: http://www.craftycelts.com/hair/heavypins.html (not the owl)

I have to swap:

THIS HAS BEEN TAKEN Brown lotus Ficcare in excellent condish, used twice: http://www.ficcare.com/Products.aspx?collId=40

ALSO TAKEN and a hair scroo, about 4 inches long, unused

or ... try me with something, heh

They look lovely, those crafty celtic hair sticks, but aren't you worried about the hair catching on the grooves when you insert the hair into your bun?

Greetings

I have some CC hair sticks (but not the thick/heavy ones blue_nant is seeking), and I've never had problems with the grooves. :) The silver ones are a little more bendy, as you might expect, so you have to be a little more careful with them--perhaps the thick ones are better about that--but I really like my CC sticks.

I have both types of sticks from CC, both the heavy and the lighter, as well as a fork. The heavy sticks definitely have more texture to them but they don't snag, the grooves aren't deep enough. There's tarnish in the crevices which makes them look really deep but they're not.

As for parting with one, I'd have to think about it. I have a pair of ravens. I haven't worn them in years but I'd have to think about it some more, plus ficcares don't work for me. :(

Lovely news on the sticks, as I have been *looking at them* for a couple of years. Thanks for the info!

Also, ficcares hold a tad loosely for me and my slippery hair ... It's a way strong hold ... but ... sigh

Sorry that second one turned out blurry, but you can see the colors really well. Overall length is 8 inches. Too bangly/noisy for me. From Anishinaabe country.
