YIPEEEE!!! I did it! 5 Strand French (pics)

Thank you all ever so much for the encouragement!

I finally did it! Worked much easier on wet hair

Taken about 20 attempts in total (not all one after the other, over the space of a couple of days) And now i can finally do it! Yay, soooooo happy :cheese: :cheese:

Its still a bit loose as i need to work on my fingering to be able to pull it tighter..

When I was learning to French braid, I was told to try it on wet hair, too. And with the "pain in my rear" results!

Funny how we're all so different and some things that work for one are impossible for another.

I can make a drop-dead 5-strand French braid with the cut-off legs of colored panty-hose - each strand is a different color, so it's easier to keep track of where I am.

Problem is, I want to make it out of my hair - not just pantyhose - and I can't figure out how to do it on my head!! Maybe I should tie pantyhose on my head and weave it in.... Or not!

Great job on you, though. And that gorgeous dark hair just glows!

I so want to be able to do the 5 strand braid but I think I may be missing a few fingers or hands to be able to accomplish it. I'm still watching videos and playing with my hair on the couch then running to the bathroom to see what kind of a mess I've made. That is how I learned to french braid. For hours I would just "feel it" while watching tv, then jump up and see what I had done, then start over. Great job on mastering this!
