As my hair has gotten longer, I've noticed that I struggle not to tear it when doing things like twisting it up to put in a bun. If my hands are not just right - dryness vs. moist - then I end up snagging hairs. This morning, before I did my hair, I put a little cornstarch on my palms with the puff I keep in a container of corn starch that I use for bath powder. Rubbed it quickly to get off any excess and voila! It worked! No hand drag! :joy:

Great idea for hair, loves2spin - and for pantyhose, squiggyflop! I'll try it for both!

What a great idea. I'll have to try that next time I have hand-drag!

Great idea! But I wonder, does any cornstarch end up in your hair? I have used cornstarch as a dry shampoo, which works nicely, but leaves my hair very dull-looking. So, does using cornstarch for this zap your shine?

Nice idea. My main trick is to make sure my finger is dry under my ring -- that's where my hair catches most.

I never have this issue with my hair, but I do on my microfiber towel. it always makes me feel rather like a troll ... errrr ...

No, I just put the cornstarch on and sort of quickly rub off any excess. It seems to take away any loose moisture and smooth things out. Nothing gets on my hair! :)

I basically avoid running my fingers through my hair.

I think I'll give this a try, especially next time I'm trying to twist my hair up for a bun, while wet.
I get "hand drag" really bad when my hair is wet. I end up with alot of lose hairs all twisted around my fingers, I hate that.

Thanks for sharing, loves2spin!:D

Great! I am going to keep this in mind the next time my hair feels a little snarly and I want to put it up.

Great tip! This would be great for when it's so hot my hands are sweating, and just touching my hair seems to make it cling to the sweat...ughh. :p

Exactly. Figuring this out has made things a lot easier!

I wonder if you could just use coconut oil or another oil as well if you were afraid of the cornstarch making your hair dull. I don't have the "hand drag" problem but it seems like that would work too  I get mad at myself because I forget to take my rings off and they catch :shudder:
