I don't know how many of you live in Spain, I just know one of you, but if some day you have to come here I have to anounce that I'm so glad I found a Non-Cone Conditioner sold in Spanish supermarkets, which is something quite difficult to find if you don't go to a Bodyshop or any other health food shop or whatever and waste an important amount of money.

I only knew that the one of Frank Provost was cone free, but it is quite expensive and I don't know if it has sulfates or parabens. I found one called Herbatural made in Barcelona: (http://www.herbatural.com/home_eng.html)

It doesn't have cones, neither sulfates nor parabens. The bottle is 750ml and it costs around 5 Euros. Mine contains sweet almond oil and other natural ingredients, I'll put the ingredients below for you to see them:

AQUA, CETYL ALCOHOL, CETRIMONIUM CHLORIDE, MYRISTALKONIUM CHLORIDE, QUATERNIUM 14, PRUNUS DULCIS (Sweet Almond), PROPYLENE GLYCOL, CITRUS LIMONUM, ANANA SATIVUS, PASSIFLORA INCARNATA, VITIS VINIFERA, PARFUM, 2-BROMO-2NITROPROPANO-1,3DIOL, CITRIC ACIDE, LIMONENE.

It seems quite natural since it is imposible to avoid certain ingredients. Here we don't have one dollar tree stores, and all the products you have so it is quite difficult to find certain things if you don't go to the place I said before or a chemist.

I'm trying to start using de CO method and for that I wanted a conditioner without cones, until now I was using Gliss Hair Repair...I think the Shampoo is cone free but not the rest of the products so... :disgust:

I have not used this yet but I'll tell you right after I use it. If you have any advice, opinion or question about this Herbatural thing write it down.

Wow, this is such great news!

So far I've been getting along using cone-free deep treatments in place of conditioners (for some reason, it's much easier to find cone-free hair-masks than condishes here), and for the first part of CWC, some cheap 'conditioners' that don't condition all that much (those big green bottles you can find at the 'perfumerías'? Yeah, those... cone-free, but yuck!), but if I can find these ones and they work, then happy cheese dance! :cheese:

I think I might make my way to the local Caprabo to try and find these tomorrow... thanks for the heads-up! :flowers:

I just used the conditioner and I love it. My hair is softer, easy to detangle, has more defined curls and there is less frizzing...much less. It looks shiny as well, but not as shiny as if I used my other shampoos and conditioners with cones. The smell is good but i like the smell of gliss better. Anyway I don't know if it has been the fact of doing without the shampoo or using a non-cone conditioner but I'm more than satisfied with the result. I'll keep on doing the CO method and let's see what happens from now on.

Glad it worked for you, Tennessee Rose! :)

Well, curses, no Herbaturals to be had in any of the four supermarkets I checked today (Carrefour, Eroski -which sprung in the place of the old Caprabo-, El Árbol or Lidl)...

However, because I tend to stop and look at the ingredient list of every unfamiliar conditioner I come across with, I found one that seems to be cone-free at Carrefour (although not, by any means, natural. Just cone-free).

Les Cosmètiques Carrefour Conditioner Nutriactif: water, cetyl alcohol, cetrimonium chloride, hydroxyethylcellulose, glyceryl stearate se, ceteareth-6, parfum, stearyl alcohol, panthenol, triethanolamine, tetrasodium edta, silk amino acids, methylisothiazolinone, imidazolidinyl urea, sodium benzoate.

I'm not too happy about some of the preservatives (triethanolamine, particularly), but at a low 1,70 euros per 400 mls, I figured I'd take it home and give it a try... I can always clarify and DT if it turns out to be yucky!

I'll keep my eyes peeled for the Hebaturals stuff, though...

I have bad news on Methysothiazolinone there are some concerns on it because it has been studied that it could bring health problems, though in 2004 it was declared that it was not bad for your health because there was not enough information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methylisothiazolinone http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/ingredient.php?ingred06=703935#violation
http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/ingredient.php?ingred06=703935#immune. I don't know how bad it is or if it is not true but "ante la duda..." I decided not to try it.

I guess you know what imidazolidynyl urea is. It helps avoiding microbes in cosmetic products but it can also cause dermatitis (deppending on how sensible are you) when talking about urea...well is that ingredient we expulse with piss but it is quite good, I have no intentions to use it, but it is used in many cosmetics.

There are many herbalistic shops in Barcelona (Herbalistas) who sell Urtekram, who make wonderful products maybe a bit pricey but well worth the price. You can also find Jason products. For amla, shikakai and henna I buy Radhe Shyam which is a brand from Barcelona.

Yes, I know the concerns about some of those preservatives, but I am thick-skinned and not looking for a 'natural' conditioner, just a cone-free one. I've used products with Methysothiazolinone before and they worked just fine. I'm more or less resigned to live surrounded by 'suspicious' chemicals... :D

On other news, the Les Cosmètiques conditioner worked pretty well as a first conditioner for CO. I'm happy with it and plan to continue using it until I find something better...

And sibylla, I wished in my town we found herbalistas where they sold Urtekram products, I've heard nothing but good things about them... unfortunately, I can't find them here, so I have to keep looking for other options. I use the Radhe Shyam cassia for DTs sometimes and it's pretty good! :)

Oh wow, i haven't been on these boards for like forever... but I do wanna share my No.1 no-cone conditioner found in stores in Spain... It's called ANIAN and it comes in a tall bottle, it's green in color and has NO CONES. It's very watery (which makes it perfect for scalp washing) and it's very moisturizing all over. Beware though, cause in the last 2 years I've seen several reformulations of it, and there's several bottles of it around, but only one CONE-FREE (the original formulation). I'll post a picture of the real one in case somebody wants to give it a try. If you do go looking for it, READ the ingredients to make sure it's the cone-free one :

I originally discovered it at my local Mercadona but currently they only sell the cone version there. I get mine now at Alcampo (the one at Diagonal Mar mall in Barcelona carries it for sure).

I also use the one Tennessee Rose mentioned from Herbatural (the almond oil one) and it's ok, and I also use one with Henna from Veritas supermarket (I think the brand is Corpore Sano) that I like, but seriously, I swear by this ANIAN stuff! Give it a try!

If you find any other good cone-free conditioners, please do share!

And what about "Naturaleza y vida" products? Are they Spanish, right? Have you tried them?

Saludos!
