I spend a lot of time searching hair tutorials on youtube and found this nice braid

Will definitely try this when my hair grows a few more inches :)

She also has more really nice hairdos, a bit messy for my taste but some i really like

Aw, I love Bubbi. So cute and innocent.

I've done that braid this past Valentine's Day. On me, it was a frizzy mess. BUT, that was before I discovered the LHC, so I should definitely try this out again.

That was a cute hairstyle! But I suspect the french braiding would be beyond me - I am a braidtard!

lol, I totally skipped that step when I did mine. I went straight into a side ponytail.

I saw it once and I tried to figure it out. But it seems like my hair is still too short to form nice butterfly's wings...:(

OMG - I love that braid. Cute cute cute. I love the part in the video when it says "don't worry if it is messy, messy is good". LOL Awesome look!

We have a nice dinner at the end of the month. I'm going to do this. It's very cute and could look good messy or sleek.

Cute cute cute! I actually wore my hair in a French side braid today, lol! Ironic :D

Ooooh that's pretty, I'm going to have to bookmark that for when I have more hair. Double bonus, it's a braided hairstyle that doesn't look ridiculous with finer/thinner hair. Yes!

I attempted it, but I should have used more hair for the wings, the rest of the braid is a bit too fat :)

Wow Juneii that looks really awesome, and it's not fair that your hair is that thick!!:p

I can't even figure out how to start the French braid... I've also never done a French braid. It just keeps tangling my hair up.

Thanks Vampire :D

Kiffer - watch some youtube tutorials on french braiding. And just practice practice practice :) I need to work on french dutch braiding, it would look better with this hairstyle than the regular french braid I did.

Very cute, but as Juneii experienced, I think this style would be difficult for thick-haired people. My hair is almost waist and my braids will not bend like that.

EDIT: Ok, they bend. What I meant to say was that the hair is too heavy and the braids are too fat/thick.

Sadly true, my hair resists braiding (have to hold on to braids very tight or it will just fall right out). But I think if you try it when the braids are slightly damp they might be more lenient.

awww, well she is just a doll! love the style, I think I'll have to wait for some more length though sadly

Oh she is just the cutest thing ever! Thanks so much for posting these vids, YouTube is just the best thing for learning new techniques and styles.

It will be a long while before I can even attempt this on my hair, so for the time being I will just enjoy watching others creating their styles! Juneii, I thought your version looked fantastic - I really liked the contrast between the thinnner 'butterfly' braids and the thick, main braid. You have incredible hair!

Capybara's 6 month thread had a gorgeous photo of her butterfly braid, and she kindly linked me to instructions here :)

Here's my attempt, although I think my hair probably needs to be a bit longer to properly do it.

Whoa! It looks definitely like something that would never work for me in a million years!

Interesting, though, that she has quite a few layers in her hair and it works well with this sort of style. Might be something for those who are growing the layers out and having so much trouble finding ways to get it to work.

That's very pretty. I wonder how that would work on hair that's not so layered? I guess it wouldn't have that delicate ethereal look. I really like her fringe/bangs too (mine isn't straight enough for those so I'm quite envious!)

Has anyone tried this before?? If so.. how did it turn out?
I think I'll give it a go on Monday :)

I don't like to wear my hair up, but when I do it's this butterfly braid or a messy, twisted bun. I love this because my layers are so crazy and it will still look great. Plus, it literally takes like 5 minutes to do.
I've been subscribed to bubz for a long time now, I absolutely love her :)

OK I always thought this was a corny phrase but it fits her perfectly: she's cute as a button!

That is pretty cute. I don't think it'd look as good on me though since my hair is much longer than hers. I'd probably have to modify it a bit. But I might try it sometime soon. :)

I think my hair has to be longer for this style (currently 1inch off BSL)..
Otherwise I just need to concentrate on making it look nicer :)

Did those pictures work?? My computers having a bad day and I can't see my own post hehe. (If not they're in my album)

It looked really cute on the girl in the video, but it just kind of looked weird on me. I think my end braid is just too thick to look the same way hers does. Also I don't have as much fringe as her, so that might have made a difference.
