My daughter is two and has straight hair. It's about arm pit length for lack of a better discription. It's pretty much very straight except for the ends which have never been trimmed and I think that little amount of curl may disappear when it is trimmed. Any tips? Should I brush it? (I don't even own a brush myself :) ) Conditioner? It seems fine with the tiny bit I use on it.

Combing has always been fine for me, but as a child (and now) I always needed lots of conditioner - that two-in-one kids stuff never worked for me.

I think that conditioner and a wide toothed comb will be just fine for your daughter. Straight hair (unless its fine and tangly) is not too difficult to care for, and should be quite easy to braid and put up - unless her hair is slippery like mine in which case invest in some scrunchies.
