1 year growing (+ photos)

A brief retrospective of my hair-growing attempts over the last year. The last photo is actually the longest my hair has been in my entire life. I don't think my hair quite grows the average 1/2" per month. This is slow going, but I'm keeping with it.

Great progress! It's always the most difficult to get it to APL, I can understand how impatient it gets. My hair certainly doesn't grow 1/2 a month for I would have certainly longer hair by now (I use to count on a measuring tape 1/2 by 1/2 inch to see how long it would take me to get to my 1st goal, well, it seems I've overestimated!) Hang in there! :D

I had two small trims -- but not since Christmas. I doubt that accounts for even 1/2" of length, though.


Phenomenal growth!!! Your hair is so thick and healthy -- and, truthfully, you look SO much more beautiful (beacause you were beautiful to begin with) with your hair longer. It adds a soft, feminine touch that suits you so well.

THANK YOU so much for this compliment -- it actually means a lot to me because a couple people close to me in my life prefer my hair shorter and don't think I look as good at this length. They are still supportive of my own decisions, but it is so nice to know there are different opinions out there and that I can try to be a longhair, too.

Since I love this compliment, it's hard to admit the truth, but here it goes:

My hair really isn't THICK, it's just POOFY. You can squash it down to a pretty normal-size pony-tail, and whenever I have done circumference measurements, I get about 4" (not quite enough for a "iii" type for LHC's hair stats).

My best friend has hair that's literally twice as thick as mine, but we both have a harder time getting her waist-length hair on top of her head (at least, in a way that doesn't hurt and holds for hours). So I will be grateful for something nice in the middle. :)
