Aug 2010 Measure In!

Virgin hair is at about 9.5 inches overall, some of the old dye appearing to be at about 10 inches in some places, and my hair is generally hanging about 41 inches at the tip (42+ at the very tippy tip). So that is at least half an inch in growth and my hair length staying close to the same.

Yay for everyone! Been trimming a few inches or so off since June 2009 (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=28448), when I was just at 40". I just measured mine 2 days ago, and have reached 44"—only one inch away from my goal of 45"!

Well, I thought I'd stalled out completely over the last month, but it looks as though bun waves were obscuring the fact that there has been some growth. Only a centimetre, but better than nothing!

I measured last night, so I think that will have to count as my August measurement!

Stretched, my hair is measuring in at 25", one solid inch of growth from my last measurement! According to my spreadsheet, I should make it to BSL in 19 days! Unstretched, however, is another story. It is measuring in at 21.5", only one half inch longer than last time. The spreadsheet calculates that I won't make it to BSL until June 2011 with my hair curly! :disbelief Frustration! Hopefully, my calculations will adjust and become more accurate as I add more measurements.

I'm not entirely sure it's correct, though...my fiance couldn't find the tape measure so he measured my hair with a straight ruler. I'm hoping that there was a mistake and that maybe some inches didn't get measured while he was moving the ruler around.

I measured at 29 inches a few days ago, and I'm sure it hasn't really grown since then. I have layers and the longest part is just barely at waist length if it's wet. I'm still going to call it MBL since that's where the majority of the hair falls.

My hair is 24' now! I don't remember when the last time I updated my profile was, but it said 21' on there - so either way it's great to see some growth!

Lately instead of measuring of I've been taking a photo every month, but since my hair is so wavy I think sometimes it looks shorter than it actually is. So it was encouraging to get a number in my head again - only 6 more inches till I reach my goal!

I measured 28.5 inches the very longest hairs, finally got some growth! .5inches for July. By December I should hit solid waist, which is where I was last December before I cut off a bunch. That was before LHC!

6 inches here. It's still all full of layers, and I've decided that unless I start seeing damage, I won't start trimming to get rid of them until the bottom layer is past my shoulders. Maybe not even then; I kind of like them.

ETA: I just realized something. The last time my hair was at this length, I would blowdry it after every wash because I still thought my hair had to be straight to look nice. I guess I'm making progress, after all.

If you're measuring it with a straight ruler I think you've definitely lost some inches. I'm not sure if you're aware but we all use the sewing type of measuring tape and place it at the hairline at the front of our heads and measure down to the hemline.

Finally I reach APL stretched. I am shooting for BSL stretched by December 2010. I have 3.5" to go. Next mini goal is shoulder length curly but I may not get there until after BSL Stretched. I grew a good inch in July. Yay me!!!

Good luck! That's exactly the method I took (and still taking I guess) when I decided to grow my hair out. It was especially difficult because of my curls, so I avoided mirrors and bobbies and headbands were my new best friends. It'll be two years since my last cut at the end of October and my hair is almost to BSL when pulled straight.
