I've been taking a photo of my hair from the back now for about 9 months and this is the first time this has happened. I have no growth (and I took about 10 photos - all the same). However if I'm not going cross-eyed, I think my hem is a little fuller? You can see in the August pic that I have a gold safety pin where my hair went to last month and my hair is not even covering that pin this month. Last month I did measure 9/8" growth which was alot more than my normal 6/8" so maybe it's just a case of my head being a little further back last month, or my ends are tucked under a little this month or something like that.

Anyways, I've been walking around this month thinking that my hair was getting so much longer which apparently it hasn't.Anyone else been in this boat? I had a couple of weeks off work and was pretty much a couch potato plus I slept in really late alot. I had figured that this would actually be good for growth (sleeping).

I guess it could be a small thing like my hair is slightly curlier today so I've lost more length?? Oh well, the fact that I'm past BSL is a big thing for me so I'm actually not all that miffed, just curious.

You hair definatly looks a bit thicker in the second picture so I would call that progress even if you didn't get any growth this month. I have the exact opposite problem this month; my hair grew an inch last month yet it seems to be so much shorter! :ponder: Hmmm, I think having curls and waves can often skew our perceptions of growth. My waves do an annoyingly good job of hiding growth!

I had the same with this months measurement.. My hair FEELS longer, but according to the measurings it isn't. Weird, but I guess it's just an error in last month numbers or different texture this month.. or something like that. :)

I agree, it does look longer and fuller. Even if the old tape measure doesn't show it I think you definately are getting some good growth!

So do I :) but maybe my POV is screwed up since I'm using a magnifier program.

it looks a little thicker and longer, certainly all I'd expect for growth in one month. This is something that's difficult when you're hair obsessed (like we all are here! lol) and then you look around this place and everyone has such *amazing* hair, but really you're only going to see so much growth in just four weeks :blossom:

It's the shorter layers growing, I can tell. It makes hair feel longer and fuller. Perhaps they are growing speedier than the bottom layer? Lucky you! :):) I wish mine would.

It looks longer to me. I think it has thickened up beautifully! It looks strong and nourished :)

It looks a little longer, and your hair looks wavier. Like maybe the wave/curly ate up some of the length when it got wavier? Did that make any sense?

Whether or not it's longer, your hair is GORGEOUS!

It looks like your hem has filled out, so it was your shorter, newer hairs that were doing the growing. And they'll probably keep right on growing and give you a new, longer length in the coming months.

I think your longest bits stalled this month (which happens to us all sometime) and the shorter bits took the time to catch up. Nothing to worry about!

I think it's longer.

In the pic from July you are wearing a long-sleeved shirt underneath the striped shirt, it looks to me like the black shirt is caused the striped one to ride a little higher than in the August pic. So even though your hair looks like it is still at the same stripe, I think it's longer due to the striped shirt falling slightly lower on your body.

Now that I have over analyzed that to death! :P I would just like to say that you have beautiful hair! :)

Oh the shine in the second pic is marvelous! I believe it is curlier too, so that would affect the lenghth. It looks very healthy.

I think you have hit the nail on the head here! That is actually a thin stocking fabric dress that I'm wearing underneath the top so it just might have "rode up" a bit and caused it to look like much longer growth at the time. 9/8" was longer than normal for me and quite unusually so. I need to make sure I'm consistent each month in order for this to work properly.

Thanks to all for the nice comments about my hair - made my day. The time of day and flash from the camera did make it look much shinier this month. But I had just done an SMT so maybe that's it. I'll have to do them more often.

It looks longer to me too, and it looks beautiful in both months.

It is hard to get photographic evidence of length change month to month. It looks like you have a good system for keeping your photos consistent with the same shirt, the same spot in the room with the shelf and frame on the wall. Still, it will be easier to see that length change over a longer period than one month.

Hi Jasper,
Yes, I've been doing this now for about 9 months. Here is the run down from November. I had about 2 inches trimmed in late March. There is definite growth each month so I was surprised at this months stall but now that I think about it, an earlier poster is most likely right about my top riding up with the other top underneath last month.

When I look at all these pics small like this, I can see growth in the last pic compared to the month before.
