A "twist out" is a style that you do on dry or wet hair. You section the hair off and make a number of ropebraids all over your head. The result? Beautiful waves. Search YouTube for these terms. E.g.:

Etc. ...

A "braid out" is the same, but it's done with braids instead of ropebraids. Torrin has a tutorial on this:

More braid outs:

Etc. ...

How many twists or braids you do, depends on you entirely.

Maybe it would be fun to experiment with this. :flower:

 That's actually why I never rope braid my hair when it's wet or damp anymore. I end up with the fake locs that take a long, frustrating amount of time to comb out. I guess it's because I have curly hair and it loooves taking to a shape (like the ropes). Hopefully it can work for others with resulting great waves! :D Of course to get waves I just comb out my hair.

Same here. xD I get rather tight twists that don't go away from rope braids, even on dry hair. I'm scared to try one on wet hair. o.o
