so i was perusing the local indian grocery store (i LOVE indian food)

And i came accross this:
http://www.dabur.com/Products-Personal%20Care-Vatika%20Hair%20Oil
http://www.theindianfoodstore.com/dabur-vatika-coconut-herbal-hair-oil-150ml.html
(same product - different links)

Has anyone used it?

My hair LOVES coconut oil and i do a heavy overnight oiling once a week.

Is this product likely to give me better results then the coconut oil?

that's my favorite oil... If I could only use one, that would be it. I use it more on my scalp, it really helps clear up my dandruff and makes my hair grow in slightly thicker. It feels a little lighter in my hair than regular coconut oil and does seem to leave the length softer.

Some people don't care for the smell, but I like it. it has a lemony, herbaly coconut smell to it. my ex-bf said it smelled like a coconut frappuccino.

It's pretty cheap, you should try it!

I wanted to like it but it didn't wow me. I don't know if it was the coconut or the henna that dried out my hair. It's worth trying through, just make sure you get the old bottle with the round ball like stopper (second link). The 'new' enriched formula is mainly mineral oil.

A thread title search on the word vatika (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/search.php?searchid=2198447) returns this.

I find that it really encourages my curl.

Well i brought some, it was $3 AUD for a bottle - cheaper then a coffee!!

We'll see how it goes...my hair loves coconut oil, and it loves henna - curiouse to see what the results will be and wether or not it better then the pure coconut oil on its own

This is my favorite oil!

its the one i use alongside mustard oil and ordinary coconut oil.

Dabur has worked wonders with my hair, and really has made my hair thicker, stronger, and longer.

Its a good brand and when i was holidaying in india I brought back 5 fresh bottles from india, LOL

i've used them all up now, so ive sent grandad to india to get me some more!! he should be back this week with them, i cant wait!! :-)

I'd suspect the lemon to be the drying ingredient.

I like this oil and always make sure i have a bottle of it. It makes a lovely massage and body oil as well

This is the first oil I have ever used and I love it so much I've never tried anything else.
I use it as a prewash about once a week.

I couldn't handle the "fragrance" in it.

Most of dabur's oils contain mineral oil. The fragrance can be rather annoying so i guess pure coconut oil is better.

Does your hair hate protein? If so, then that is the reason why this oil dried your hair. :)

I just found this oil at a local store, along with some henna. I felt like I hit the jackpot and the oil was only $2.00US.
I hope I like it :)
